As a new fan of the series I’m quite enjoying it -- but I could see how someone who grew up with these characters and knows the story really well would find it disappointing. The controls can be clunky, the first two chapters are really long tutorials and the exploration leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s way better

I’m dumb for not figuring this out earlier, those first two hours were way more frustrating than they needed to be

I’ve always been curious about these types of sales since I check the best sellers list on eshop every time I log in “just to see.” It’s a pretty genius move, getting your title next to a Zelda, Fire Emblem, Mario, etc.

I find that handheld Switch gaming works reasonably pain-free when you have games that don’t demand the use of the right stick. But as soon as you throw that tiny, horribly placed nub into the mix, my hands are made of arthritis. I might have to look into these, especially considering Astral Chain, Divinity 2 and

I somehow finished Control, started Final Fantasy 14, beat Fire Emblem Three Houses, am playing through FF8 remake, Divinity 2 (Switch), Astral Chain, Beat Gears of War 4 and am also playing through Gears 5 after starting my 5th playthrough of the Mass Effect series so my fiance can experience the story. None of these

If you’ve played Control on a beefed-up PC, you might have second thoughts. While complicated rendering techniques create a bigger bottleneck for games development, we’re already seeing similar techniques used today to incredible effect.

I recently started playing and as a newbie I am constantly worried that my Dragoon is going to be the demise of the random team pairings. It creates a weird kind of anxiety since I’m not playing with a keyboard on PS4 and typing during a battle is basically out of the question. Thankfully, the community for this game

Thanks for doing a write up about this, I haven’t pulled the trigger with streaming because Twitch is owned by Amazon, which isn’t a company that needs any of my support or money. Not that Microsoft does, but after reading this I’m more inclined to give it a try.

I started off with the Black Eagles, but wanted to do the Golden Deer. After reading this I’m happy with my choice. I can sense some tension brewing early on (10 or so hours) and I’ve had a couple of students check me and present foreshadowing threats. I hope it pays off

Looks very PS4. This is a good thing.

The ground doesn’t have enough of a case of the jitters, but I would totally play this Flashback/Out of This World/Clock Tower love child.

Yes please, Joycon hurt my big hands

Bought it, loving it, but my god...the menus. Took me 3 hours to find out how to buy weapons for my other characters in Trials — and the long load times just to navigate the 9 grid menu is...fun? Those caveats aside, there’s hardly a feeling that compares to playing a mid 90's Squaresoft game. Legend and Secret are

Even tough I paid it as soon as I could, $39.99 for this is about $19.99 too much.

Tales looks good from this single screenshot

“as is normal in these types of incidents” — a disgusting sentence from a disgusting profession

Couldn’t agree more. I didn’t even know until I bought the game and wondered why the Sonya Blade voice actor was such garbage. Explains a lot. Another mediocre white woman who doesn’t need the work taking the job from someone whose actual profession is acting.

While I agree that the Breath of the Wild experience is lacking compared to other high-powered VR experiences, I found that fast traveling to the various towers and looking around was a profound experience. I’ve been playing Zelda for over two years and seeing these lands I’ve gotten lost in for hundreds of hours

This should be $99, that’s all.

Last year I played Yakuza 0 for 10 hours then moved on to RE7, then Horizon, then Nier: Automata then Zelda...I thought it was dead to me, but I miraculously returned to it and sank 80 hours into that gem over the course of two months. Now Yakuza is one of my favorite series of all time and I buy them on day one.
