Not sure why Olivia Munn has been made the face of two articles about this on Jezebel now. Mulaney is the grown man who ended his marriage and moved on rapidly. If it wasn’t Munn it would have been any other woman who caught his fancy. This framing and many of the comments here have been “other-womaning” Munn. FFS just

I can honestly say I didn’t know that about Rita and Tom.

Marriages are often over years before the divorce announcement, so if John Mulaney was cheating, it’s probably the least surprising thing about this.

Yeah it’s a bummer that the nice guy comic you like so much is a reckless prick in real life but all of these indignant comments that there is gossip going on in this gossip column are hilarious.

Look, I always loved Mulaney’s comedy.
But, here - regardless of timeline, Olivia is pregnant by an addict fresh out of rehab (who had relapsed and needed an intervention.)

I’m just impressed at Mulaney’s ability to get things done during a pandemic. Dude gained a drug addiction, a mistress, a baby and an ex-wife all while I’m still having my groceries delivered.

I have only seen one TikTok about Munn/Mulaney and it was a joke about how Olivia Munn got knocked up by a Bears fan to get back at Aaron Rodgers. It was fun.

I don’t actually care about Mulaeny’s (or Munn’s) personal lives or what they did or whether they cheated or not. Not the first time this has happened in Hollywood and none of my business anyway. But I generally like Mulaney (sitcom aside) and his output, which is why I am, I suppose, interested in this story. It

I think there’s a difference between a character actor, particularly a private one who has never made their personal life part of their job (at least on purpose), and someone who made “their business” their literal business and then continues to do so. Kind of like the idea of “opening the door” in court.

Jezebel called Olivia Wilde a Queen after the same accusation came up and the commentariat was hard on Jason Sudeikis after he said he was blindsided. Then Jezebel made an article about his “sad man” mustache.

Which is odd, considering Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson started as an affair while filming ‘Volunteers’. He was still very much married to his first wife...he’s talked pretty openly about his regret at betraying her and his family.

I don’t really understand where the “it isn’t our business” takes are coming from. This is a classic celebrity scandal (drugs! cheating with strippers! a secret baby! a scheming mistress!), and it’s fascinating because it cuts directly across the image Mulaney has sold himself on for years. (It’s almost literary how

Agreed. Britney posts really weird content on her Instagram that strongly suggests she has mental health issues that will most likely continue once she’s “free”. I get bad vibes from her boyfriend, and I think she will continue to live a stunted life once she’s free from her conservatorship. The point as I understand

Hard to believe it’s only been 4 years since Munn was sexting Chris Pine. I’m sure these two events are in no way related. Good luck to the happy, happy couple.

I wonder if posting naked photos is the best way to convince a judge you no longer need a conservatorship?

I think some people from the #FreeBritney movement are going to have to prepare to be disappointed in her. Not to say that she can’t and shouldn’t be in charge of her own life, just to say that we all make mistakes or the occasional choice that we believe is right but looks bizarre to the outside world. It feels like

Correct: It isn’t just indulging our prurient interest when we can justify it with some armchair psychology.

I go back and forth on whether John Mulaney’s personal life should be the subject of public discussion. I don’t care that much, but I think there actually are different rules on these things when its a character actor and someone whose career/brand is entirely based on their personal life and being earnest. I do think

Not to mention regular-degular people cheat on their partners all the time. We all know at least one couple whose origin story is a little sketchy, right? We all know somebody whose spouse left them in dramatic, messy fashion, correct? Why would celebrities be any different?

Agreed. Mulaney really seemed like a good guy though, I think that’s why people are losing their shit. Like not Tom Hanks or Keanu level good— but maybe Terri Crews level good. At the end the day, I don’t think cheating is *that* much worse than serving someone divorce papers then immediately impregnating someone else
