I thought that way too. But then someone pointed out that America sucks and so she probably isn’t doing this because she actually thinks Gorilla Glue is at fault or blames them for her mistake, but because it’s the only way she’ll actually be able to afford the medical care.

I’m not quite sure if you are one of the people I was talking about or not. You definitely seem to have some Book People traits, but maybe a little more self-awareness about them. Not everyone makes their book collection about impressing other people, but some do, they are ones I’m talking about. What I’ve said in my

...oh ye gods. You’d have thought, given how often I’ve seen people ask the ‘where do I start with Pratchett’ question, I’d have come up with a more concise answer by now, but no, apparently not... so sorry about that dissertation there!

Personally, I start a lot of people with Mort. It was my starting point and a good introduction to the world and some characters, and is one of the shorter ones.

Those are your own issues though. And I can definitely see why people that had limited access to books, despite wanting them, would have some problems with it. But having that own personal sadness is different than being a Book Person and comparing it to book burning. Or to declare some books shouldn’t exist or are

But reading isn’t the only way to have intellectual curiosity. I’ve dated guys that didn’t read, but listened to a lot of podcasts, or didn’t read but watched a lot of dictionaries, or didn’t read by were endlessly building things or taking things apart and putting them back together.

Yep. I once dated a guy that didn’t really enjoy reading, but he could fix any problem my car was having and we both enjoyed cooking together. Or the engineer I dated who was dyslexic and didn’t enjoy reading, but he liked podcasts and we could discuss those. And even if I do date someone that likes reading, our

I mean, I guess I can appreciate it for helping me understand a Hark, A Vagrant comic.....still not going to thank my teacher for making me read it. :-)

I’m not sure what you mean by “pros”, but yes there is some decorating trends right now that have the spines facing in. But, they are decorative, so it doesn’t matter that you can’t find what you are looking for.

Which Terry Pratchett was the one you read? (don’t worry, if you didn’t like it, I genuinely won’t push. It’s just there are some that are better to start with than others)

I have one bookshelf, and the top shelf is knick-knacks not books. The only books I have on it are either books I re-read, which is mostly Terry Pratchett and Mercedes Lackey, and my collection of old fairy tale books.

Ugh, I hate that meme. I enjoy reading, but have dated guys that don’t really own books or enjoy reading books. But, they were guys that enjoyed things like watching documentaries or listening to podcasts or other things like that. The important thing was that curiousity and ability to have a discussion about

The bookshelf becomes a shrine, the book a fetish.

I saw “was Mormon” and suddenly all the names all made sense.

I listen to a lot of NPR and was waiting for the day one of the hosts snapped. “Today the president tweeted... You know what? Fuck this! I didn’t go to journalism school and work my way up to this level to have to read and say shit like this! I’m done!”

Look at all her other shots and then look at the ones being discussed. Yes, there are shots from the front and side, that’s how people usually have their picture taken. But these were specifically done in the front view and side view style and poses used in “Before and After” shots for people shilling whatever shitty

That’s the thing. She has been doing that. She shares a lot of stuff about working out, eating vegan, etc. She’s been doing good things for herself all along.

Yeah, that’s really what got me. I love watching her work-out videos and vegan food posts, basically about loving your body and being good to it and “fat people can enjoy moving their body too”

You absolutely were though. You don’t want to discuss division of labor, you want to make sure other people know that you are one of the special ones.

I am going to be so upset when the mustard yellow trend dies!
