I mean, do we really need to know? I think the show works if we know or not. To be honest, I think it works better if we never get any concrete answers. Kind of more terrifying to never understand how so many people could just disappear all at once.

Purge: Anarchy was the type of goofy, over the top action movie that doesn't take itself seriously that the AV Club would love, and Its disappointing that so many people here missed out on it because of the franchise it was attached to.
