I guess I don't really understand how it's "piggybacking" when it is the same issue- but I can appreciate that some people might see it that way, and will not be using the hashtag.

It should make them angry. It should make all of us angry.

My impression was that the hashtag isn't for educating black people about how nice the cops are to white people, but educating fellow white people on their own hypocrisy. It's a lot harder to say that these murdered black men were thugs and criminals who "got what they deserved" when white people admit to the same

That makes me crazy. CRAZY.

I wish I could be there with you guys. I'm in Idaho and there isn't any protests nearby, but some of us are following this very closely, and we are rooting for you nonetheless.

Yeah.. those white people they're trying to impress by throwing their own race under the bus? Those aren't the fair-minded ones. Those are the racists looking to justify the positions they held anyway. What better way to excuse your own bigotry by pointing to a member of a minority group and saying "see? He thinks the

I am also intimidated by her, but in a way that makes me want to be her willing slave.

I'll go you one better NYT: I plan fantasy weddings that aren't even my own. That are for hypothetical people who aren't me. I just like planning weddings. It's fun for some of us to pick out the cake, the dress, the tux, the ambient lighting- even if we know it will never happen. It's just a way to pass the time and

Not really. In situations like this, the father is usually either out of the picture entirely or totally uninvolved. There are some exceptions, but there's a reason that the stereotype is "Stage Mom" and not "Stage Dad".

In cases like this, I have to wonder about the mother. I find it very hard to believe that this child is just very driven and single-minded about pursuing a career as a supermodel and the mother is just there to support her.

Agree completely. I think it's sad that the easiest way to mainstream success for many black artists is still the ol' "making white people feel more comfortable about their racism" shuck-and-jive.

It's Minstrelsy, straight-up.

I see that the torch has been passed. I was beginning to wonder who would take up the mantle of policing black culture since Cosby lost his credibility.

Yes and yes. Only Lovers Left Alive reminded me of all the reasons I used to love Vampire stories. I was worried that Stephanie Meyers had killed that part of me for good.

God, I want to see this movie so bad I can taste it. Unfortunately, I live in Idaho and this is probably only being released in selected theaters. The bumpkins who live in my state will likely forego this selection and opt to show Meet the Mormons in multiple theaters.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that the gaming industry does not want my money.

"I'm as pure as pure can be."

I honestly think that Hunchback of Notre Dame was just a really weird choice of story to get the Disney Treatment. It's not a fairytale on par with Cinderella or Snow White (or even Robin Hood), the subject matter is dark, and the original story is just so damned depressing. I still don't know how it ever got made.

Thank you. Being a huge fan of the historical Anne Boleyn, I loathed Natalie Portman's portrayal of her. She did the character no justice.
