The harder thing for H2 electrolysis is compressing it locally. That might become more of a logistics problem than a technical one, as pump technology really hasn't changed much. I think that hydrogen is the answer, but electricity has a one up on it when it comes to off-the-grid potential

“there has to be some kind of standard, right?”

NP if you're in the market for a $15k car and expect the final bill (once you've done everything you need to do) to match that. CP of you expect to spend the $7k alone and be happy with it

The Mustang is looking pretty good these days. That’s a nice automobile. I guess that I’d rather have it in black or blue

It’s a shame that they all rusted away decades ago

The off center bowtie is the frosting on the cake of sh!t

The Subaru loyalists that I know claim that they are reliable :/

I didn't realize that crossovers were incompatible with hybrid technology

America is a country where everyone thinks that they’re one promotion or opportunity away from becoming a millionaire. That's why, if rich people are loud enough, people somehow sympathize with them. Scaling fines are the only truly "fair" fines, but they'll never be passed

I doubt that Subaru can survive the death of the ICE by themselves. Pairing up with Toyota makes a lot of sense for both companies. Subaru has the emotional marketing down pat, while Toyota is familiar with hybrid and plug in technology

I drive my up and down a mountain every day, and I think that the power levels are fine. Sure, it’s not a Mustang GT, but when I drop from 4th to 2nd, I can really get it to sling up a decreasing, inclined curve

When I shut the door on an HRV in the dealer, it made the same hollow, rattling thud as my Fit. The platform just isn’t built with reduced NVH in mind

I love my 2009 Fit. A plug-in would be phenomenal. If Honda made a slightly more upscale version with better highway experience, I'd be all over it. Where is a Japanese version of the A5 or GTI?

Because the Accord is a great vehicle...

My parents have a hybrid Accord, and it's a great vehicle. I expect the CR-V to really meet expectations. The one problem with the Accord is that the seats are stiff and unsupportive. Fantastically cool power train technology, for sure

It’s highly flammable and potentially explosive. A personal amount of hydrogen would behave in nearly the same way

Holy crap, are you not aware of propane?

I hope that the rust doesn’t creep back quick enough to ruin the party. Your work is excellent, and I wish that I was half as skilled and knowledgeable. I can barely work on pre-injection Jeeps :/

This thing is a screaming metal deathtrap if it gets so much as bumped by a modern SUV, but at that price, I want it to be MY screaming metal deathtrap. NP

It’s not like you’re giving up an amazing driving experience for a blob of a crossover. My car life exists in two phases: the first demands a manual, engaging handling, and a fun-to-drive experience from A to Z. The second phase is going to pick up an electric car that can nearly drive itself and handle most
