Honestly, the little tells of how sickly his complexion is under all that spray tan are the one thing that keeps me going with having to see that jowly mug on the news.

Him nothing - a large chunk of the right wing machine is projecting.
There’s a reason why you’ll hear all manner of nonsense theories about Soros paying off protestors with very little then being said about how the Kochs helped fund/organize the Tea Party.

For as much of a dumpster fire as he was, I sort of cut Harding a little slack here in that the general upshot as I understood it was he was just too damn naive to realize all the shit his buddies were getting up to behind his back.
By comparison, Trump’s the one getting up to a lot of the shit himself.

That said, yeah

I mean, it fits wonderfully for the ‘government doesn’t work’ part of the GOP.
But then, when you deliberately do a shitty job to prove it doesn’t work, that’s like a security guard robbing their place of employment just to show they don’t think it’s secure enough.

I think my favorite part of this these days goes to the Q people believing a man who has built his entire career on slapping his name on anything he could conceivably get away with it on, even up to getting it on the stimulus checks (in a...sketchy move, to say the least), would be at the head of a years-long deep

Honest question - was anyone else first made aware of this movie care of the extended riff it got on American Dad?

Cause I’ll admit it - after that, I looked up the song (...and subsequently snagged a copy) and then found the movie.
Twas a batshit delight (and also not mentioned here but worth pointing out - a sharply

At the time of this writing - one of the art house theaters support has been doing live seminars/q&as on select films as part of their programming while the main theater is closed. Attended their q&a on Night of the Living Dead which was a pretty enjoyable discussion to sit in on.

Let’s be sadly honest  - the internet being what it is, some of these motherfuckers are gonna be patting themselves on the back for this.

I will go to my grave arguing he was born 10-20 years too late and could have been music video royalty back the heyday.

Personally, I’m waiting to see if Warner Bros sudden burst of generosity will lead them to finally cough up that unrated cut of The Devils they no doubt still have under lock and key in a better quality than the bootleg versions out there.

Interestingly, I seem to recall this was how the DCAU Superman series handled it - the first introduction of anything related to Darkseid was a crime syndicate buying weapons from what later turned out to be Apokolips. But just taken on the first episodes, it’s simply this syndicate you find out at the very end has

Some of them might. There’s a whole cadre of Snyder-faithful who have HATED the existence of lighter (or at least less overwrought) movies like Shazam! and Birds of Prey making light of their grim and serious vision of what DC should be.

...their loss, I’d say, but hey.

This.
For the amount of time and (in some cases) money the fans have put in here, you can expect a textbook demonstration of sunk cost fallacy if this cut turns out to be similarly lackluster.

Walter Peck comes to mind as a big example of this trope.
Have Peter played by anyone but Bill Murray, and people would look at his behavior and go “...what a dick. He just wants to check your equipment, man!”

If you don’t watch what you say, you’re gonna get us all whacked!
Ha HA! ...Body in a woodchipper!

Honestly, taken in the context of the allegation, it reads less like ‘Trump is into watersports’ and more ‘Trump is a childishly petty man who would pay prostitutes to defile a bed JUST because Obama was reported to have slept in it.’

For all its faults, that is one thing I will give Twitter at large - they always, always, ALWAYS remind Joey when he posts.
The Nazi thing as well, but ESPECIALLY his piss drinking.

I think one of my favorite examples of this trope is, if not visually, at least in terms of audio one of the more quiet/somber takes on the trope.

Cause Goddamn, the scene near the end of Fury Road with Nux flipping the rig over on Rictus, taking himself out and pulling a John Landis-grade multi-car pile-up on the rest

The more I look at Elon Musk, the more I’m reminded of an Alan Moore quote:
(paraphrased)

“Around the time I turned 50, I thought to myself - rather than bore my friends with the usual midlife crisis, I decided I’d go completely insane and declare myself a wizard.”

I feel like Elon decided to follow this example.

Not only is he in there, he’s basically reprising his version of the Trickster from the ‘90s Flash.

Plus, it gave him the opportunity to finally be the one to tell someone else “I am your father!”
