This.
Part of what got me with HiDive was that ground level price of $3 a month for the next two years (having said that, I’m still likely sticking around post price adjustment if it stays reasonable. I’m a sucker for classic anime and right now they’re one of the only services that’s really scratching that itch.)

Along these lines, after missing it in theaters, finally saw Solo recently.
And was kind of surprised to hear a Star Wars film starting to push the implications line about sexual content with some of the dialogue. Most overtly when Q’ira is telling Han about Lando with that exchange that is probably the closest anyone

One of the reasons I remain convinced physical media won’t completely go away - there is a base that goes in for this bonus info and streaming just can’t be arsed to cover that a lot of the time.

And honestly, I’m okay with physical media going more the way of the collector’s market. It’s been working nicely for

and God bless him, he’s been doing his damnedest to hype for this movie on social media.

I kind of feel bad for him for seeing how much he’s been trying to sell this and all the while, despite liking Marshall and most of this cast, have been left cold by this since the first trailers dropped.

WHACKITY-SMACKITY-DOOOOOO!

I get that this is an F&F reference, but seeing this on scrolling through, my first thought was ‘The Diving Hell and the Butter Boy’

I will continue to argue that Blackwater is overall one of the best episodes in all of GoT.
Arguably the best depending how you want to look at it (can think of maybe one or two others would argue could contend alongside it)

Also, while we’re marking points in Marshall’s favor, I have to give a shout-out to him for

The awkward part here is, it’s actually a pretty faithful adaptation of the original manga they’re adapting from - the biggest change it has from page to screen being more to bring it in line with the general anime continuity (eschewing the manga’s ‘It turns out the One Year War just...kept going’ in lieu of framing

Subbed or dubbed? Cause it’s aged in general, but the dub REALLY adds to it. Last Christmas Eve watched Endless Waltz for the first time in ages (subbed since Crunchyroll doesn’t have the dub) and was genuinely surprised realizing how much the dub cast play up the emotions and make characters sound so much angrier.

It also doesn’t help that, as the legends go, he was basically strong-armed into making it (this all went down around the time Bandai bought up Sunrise, a move that you can also see other shows around the time including digs about.)
He wasn’t a fan of the idea in general. Even moreso when they informed him “You owe us

When I saw 08th being touted as one of the best, I was already gearing up for a “And also there’s 0080.”

So to not see it...I’m gonna ask that you let me join you in that “What the Hell?”

I’m genuinely curious - depending the capacity you were involved, what was your read on the overall attitude here - more sincerely believed this was gonna be good, or more cynical-as-fuck milking of true crime/the Manson anniversary?

For that ‘Am I about to be witness to a crime?’ feel from your movie, my go to pick remains the first half of I Spit On Your Grave.

As cathartic as the revenge portion of that movie is, that first half remains sheer Hell to watch and I kind of feel like I need to sit in a shower after.

There’s days I get the sense that nothing would make him happier.

I think a big part of why it works in MotP is the fact that it’s a reveal that’s done less in the service of the Joker’s character and more in the service of Bruce and Andrea. Save for his job, we learn no name, no real personality. It’s there to put him in the spot they need him in for the finale (and honestly, given

and as Marvel fans lose their minds over the possible uttered spoilers, here I sit thinking “I swear to God, Build-A-Bear, if you’re getting my hopes up for Thanos in a ridiculous luchadore mask that won’t be in the finished film, I’m holding it against you!”

...I’m torn between whether I want this remake of Demons or not.

“Do you hear that, GuitarMike? That is the sound of inevitability. It is the sound of Stellan Skarsgaard running around in his boxers. Goodbye, GuitarMike.”

This is where I think DC is currently on the right track. Besides walking off the almost absurdly dour feel of their first batch of films, WW and Aquaman both worked because the shout-outs are, at best, little nods to a larger setting. They didn’t feel like you had to have done cinematic homework to enjoy them. Just
