Tesla is quite capable of doing its own terrible as shown in myriad videos and articles.  Jalopnik merely reports the terrible.

Tesla has clearly been rushing production and cutting major corners for years, but the fanboys STILL think they’re the greatest thing since sliced bread, and “years ahead of the competition”.

The ignorance is unfathomable.

More of the “you just don’t understand it yet” argument from the crypto bros.

I really enjoyed it and the style of racing. Great show from start to finish, need more of this risk taking and less worrying about what the faithful want.

The new recruits here lately have been confusing stunning engineering with the rich people who own them, and that their job should be to cover the vehicle first. Almost everyone who reads Jalopnik already thinks Bezos is a scumbag, piling on is just annoying. Spanfeller’s plan for G/O seems to be to turn it into a

no where as bad as cars from 70s-80.

Looking at the Taxa Mantis Overland that I’ll be in, there isn’t even a television or a stereo. Perfect.

I think about getting an VR rig (even though I don’t have the space for it) and then read something like this and say Nah, I’m good.

I think we should strongly consider “would immediately end a driving test” as a valid criteria to stop a public beta of any self-driving system. Until it can complete (and pass) a basic driving test, we should probably limit test vehicles to people hired and trained to properly monitor and control the vehicle.

Hahaha, first of all the Jan 6th protest had nothing to do with republicans, were mostly peaceful. Meanwhile there were HUNDREDS of violent riots directly supported by the democrat party all the way up to the highest leadership, they financed it, they CANCELLED our democratic laws to aid the criminals destroying the

what I want in my car is a dumb display and a bluetooth speaker system.

I’ll bring my own computation thank you very much.

More pointless, expensive to replace nonsense.

As long as you’re not a ham-fisted moron,...”

The most “cringe” take I’ve seen in a while. Do you even understand how the ad industry works? Every ad is run past focus groups and if they don’t approve of it, it won’t run no matter how good the creative thinks it is. So your problem is with an ad series that was created by an agency headed by a black woman who

It’s bad enough when the average internet rando uses “cringe” as an adjective. You’re a professional-ish website. Use one of the many words that would have worked just as well to communicate your message without making you sound like a 12 year old.

I do give them credit for creating a marketing agency specifically for African Americans and having it led by a Black person. I’m glad she gets it.

It’s about a... wait for it... car.

AND Venmo is *owned by* PayPal. What a ridiculous hill for LifeHacker to die on.

I interpreted “faster than a GT3" to mean “I passed a GT3 on the straightaway”. That, or the driver of the GT3 was inexperienced and was doing the smart thing by not pushing it beyond his comfort level. Anyone can pass someone by flooring it through a braking zone and zooming past everyone else straight into a wall.

It’s especially funny because I had to show an early 20's coworker last week how to make a pie chart with excel. I’m not sure excel skills are an especially prominent feature among Gen Z.
