I demand an explanation.
I demand an explanation.
High five!
Good thing we have you around to explain her motivations to us, I guess. I didn’t know her psychiatrist was manning these boards, yet here you are.
Oh, so this is garbage but evvvvveryone around this site is just fiiiiiine with what they’re doing to GHOSTBUSTERS.
YOU ARE INCORRECT TO ASSUME IT IS A TUMOR!
You too. And I’m sorry if you were given a hard time. More than any other internal problem, I think, within the feminist friendly internet, is that people (even the good guys) constantly feel they’re being attacked and shamed anytime they step out of line. Whatever your opinion was, you shouldn’t be made to feel awful…
No. But. I’m disagreeing. You just said “all white people” are responsible. I’m saying that is absolutely not true.
I see a lot of people dismissing, at face value, the idea that being transracial and transgender may have legitimate commonalities. I am yet to see a single person actually attempt an argument as to why they believe this to be the case.
The point of ridiculing #notallwhitepeople or#notallmen arguments is not that all white people, or all men, or all whatever, actually are responsible. It’s that the #notall argument is typically used as a deflection away from talking about the fact that #enoughwhitepeople and #enoughmen are for it to be a big problem.…
They do, and they are assholes for it.
“This is the last time I am going to speak to you about it.”
Primed by the fact that when you ‘took one look at her’ it was in the context of a news story about how she had been pretending to be black.
Sure, but you’d been primed, right? Would you have done so if you hadn’t been told the story?
I know I’m gonna get absolutely fucking blasted for this, and I hope people will believe me when I say I’m asking this question in good faith, but can someone please help me reconcile why it’s okay to call this woman batshit insane, but not okay to level such criticism at a person who is transgender? I understand that…
I think you’ll find the dilophosaurus is named Audrey II.
I would have liked a conversation about people’s responses to it. I would have liked an acknowledgement of the fact that people in the feminist, abuse advocacy community were disturbed by it. A conversation about what we expect from victims and spokespeople and what that means when the two are one and the same. An…
It’s a start. It happened days ago, but yeah. Good. :)
More strawmen. My ‘will’? Good Lord.
It would appear I have done so, haven’t I? Here we both are, discussing it.
So much to unpack.
