I couldn't possibly agree more with you Scrawler.  I think the most revolutionary thing is this was addressed on the show. You could argue the subtext of I Dream of Jeannie was that she was never really willing to listen. She just pretended to and all that. But she still cowered when Tony yelled. Went to her bottle

Totally agree. She was beautiful and bad ass. And even in the late season when this show was terrible and she so clearly hated it she was really just so *good*. Just her presence alone was so good. The feminist readings of this show come so much from the fact that this woman so clearly was a self-assured, confident

People make Mad Men comparisons all of the time but, seriously, the first season of the show is really quite adult and even "sophisticated". With the drinking and the women throwing themselves at Darrin and the clients hitting on Sam it is very Mad Menesque.

I was going to say the same thing.  I have never heard this show trashed the way others of its kind were.

Darrin just got much worse over the years. At first, he was just a guy who wanted a normal life and his wife was telling him she wanted it too. But it was very obvious that she didn't, really. And he was always very nice to her relatives that didn't ruin his life (like Aunt Clara or Sam's father). But, over time, he

And is it me or is has she gotten hotter?

This episode was supposed to air last week at the nine slot but, for some reason, the network switched them.  So, the schedule had this episode as having already aired last week and it didn't record.

Beyond the actual DVR issue, looking to see what is new to be recorded on the DVR is how many of us decide what to watch.  30 Rock is not doing well but there is no way that didn't have at least a small effect in this circumstance.  It is too drastic a drop and too far off from Parks.

That isn't that weird.  She had to be hot back then, right?  It is literally the only explanation for why she was on SNL, in the first place.

The thing about comments like that about both Parks and Recreation and Community (and 30 Rock) is that people take such delight in bashing something that critics and a core group of fans adore.  It is actively rooting against quality that will always kill me.

I am actually really surprised P&R can't find more of a base. Community, which I love, I understand.  It is weird, complex and the characters aren't always likable.  I feel like P&R has such a positive undercurrent and a cast of wacky yet lovable characters.  I don't think it is significantly less accessible or more

Piling on Jerry brought the scene where Chris tells Jerry he is capable of so much more and he responds "I'm really not.". Jerry is even Jerry to Jerry.

I also found that interesting. I remember when I was first watching the show one of the funniest scenes for me up until that point was in Practice Date, with Louis CK as Dave. Leslie is completely drunk and in Dave's house and she suddenly turns to the camera and goes "I think things are going really well with
