Just goes to show that money doesn’t buy class.

That was my thinking. Kav has said he was never at the party. If it’s proven by multiple witnesses that he WAS there...

Definitely read to the last one... And wish her the best if she decides to proceed.

The google maps, other guy did it, here’s the floorplans conspiracy theory is the peak of this entire disaster so far. It may be surpassed but it is tops for the moment.

It is pretty damning that almost every defense of him is based on the assumption that this DID happen.

PS: it’s a 12-tweet thread, so don’t stop at the first one!

WOW!  Read this thread, this is an amazing testimony:

I have faith in our governmental systems but the last two years have been really hard to remember that Trump and his minions will be gone eventually. Trump only looks and plays the short game. Politics is the long game.

The Senate Judiciary Committee’s power move to back Christine Blasey Ford into a corner may not work, as Ford seems open to testifying against Brett Kavanaugh next week, so long as the terms of such a hearing “are fair and which ensure her safety.” Your move, Grassley

Rachel Parris really managed to get under Piers Morgan’s skin, so is now officially a national treasure.

I had not heard of her - thank you!

That’s a good point. I think the conversation centres around the attempted rape, because there will be a lot of people who have either experienced it themselves or have close friends/family who have been raped/sexually assaulted. So not only are we horrified by it, we also have personal examples that we can relate it

100% this. The sense of entitlement for that type of man is truly staggering. As is the fact that various societies have considered that kind of “defence” to be a valid one. Blaming the victim for the actions of a rapist, as if the rapist had no choice but to rape. It’s insane.

I’m shocked that a party which has dedicated itself to fucking over women’s reproductive rights, would have a bunch of guys who try to fuck women without their consent. Shocked, I tell you.

I wasn’t aware of that rule. It absolutely fits, though

Like they teach you in communications courses, don’t use “but” unless you’re trying to invalidate the first half of the sentence...

Being a rape apologist seems to be quite common in right wing circles.

Men who nitpick about rape - whether some things count as rape, whether rape is all that bad, whether women were asking to get raped - are saying all these things because they identify with the rapist and can see themselves in these positions (if they haven’t been already). A man who thinks something a woman wears
