That’s a good point. I think the conversation centres around the attempted rape, because there will be a lot of people who have either experienced it themselves or have close friends/family who have been raped/sexually assaulted. So not only are we horrified by it, we also have personal examples that we can relate it…

100% this. The sense of entitlement for that type of man is truly staggering. As is the fact that various societies have considered that kind of “defence” to be a valid one. Blaming the victim for the actions of a rapist, as if the rapist had no choice but to rape. It’s insane.
