I tend to look for products with lots of reviews on Amazon, and then I look at the general trend—if the four-star reviews + the five-star reviews = 75% or more of the total reviews, then it's probably a safe product to buy. Yup, the vulnerability of the RAID 0 configuration to lose all your data is the big hangup for me. But then, a computer with a mechanical hard drive, decent processor, and 4 GB of RAM meets my needs; anything more exceeds my needs—and usually costs more, which I try to avoid.

I like this setup! Clean, and the circle makes good use of space!
