As a transplant to Ireland, my first Irish pub crawl let me in on why the Irish really drink it: you can drink heroic quantities and wind up only moderately drunk AND not feel like barfing.

Excellent. I’ve recently moved to Ireland and I’ll have to seek these out. I’ve been experimenting with a few whiskys above the standard Paddy’s level and have had mixed reactions to the genre. Thus far, Teeling is my favorite.

Something’s got to give. Brexit might slow things down... or drive more people to Dublin. It’s doubly shitty since credit is so tight with the mortgage laws so nobody can afford to buy if they don’t have cash. But if they loosen credit again, the housing prices will skyrocket. There’s no winning here.  

Before flying off the handle, I sat and thought about this a bit and I think there may be a few potential benefits of this method:

My wife habitually drinks swamp water because she insists on using a travel cup with a (reusable) straw at home. She’ll ask me to refill it and I can almost see the bacteria teeming in it. 

My old roommate was putting onion peels down the disposal, which got us a withering lecture from the plumber who came to unclog our stinky mess of a drain.
