My favorite part of The Black Cauldron is when Gurgie commits suicide.

Damn, those hipsters are going to have to dig into their trustfunds.

How much was 60$ in 1990? That's how much they should pay.

That idea is fully illustrated elsewhere, in Robb's quest for vengeance for example.

Hopefully they change the shitty ending.

Nope, it's a disease.

Juan Nieve!

Nah, I see it more as Shrek's ending, set to a Smash Mouth song.

Yes, but Ned's death has a narrative function. It's the catalyst for the war, it isn't just shock for shock's sake. The Red Wedding also drives the story forward, eliminating the Starks from the equation and establishing the Boltons in Winterfell.

Yes, but he'll probably split it into two books. The first part is "A Dream of Spring" and the eight book will be, "Nope Just More Winter"

Yes, The Wire is bleak, but it's satisfying and well constructed. This just feels like they bit off more than they could chew, and needed to finish off characters as quickly as they could to cut down on the fat.

Check him for silk worms?

I think what I'm most irritated by is that next season, we're going to have to deal with Bran and Sam as leading characters. So fucking boring. The Cripple and the Fat Shit on wild magical adventures. Who cares.

You put it far better than I did. His anti-cliche fantasy story is becoming its own cliche.

That was a joyless viewing experience. And if Jon Snow is truly dead, per the EW interview, then Martin wasted hundreds of pages - and our time - on building his character, and GOT wasted tens of hours on him.

Holy shit, I think Elmore Leonard has taken over God's role in writing reality.

I awhnestly can't help but wonder if he will even BOTHER to put his ah—-haaacting chops to the test, and reh-eh-eee-he-hee-he-EEELY SELL this character, or just, you know, phewn it in. Girls name. Whistle. Nose scratch.

Christ, it's not like someone's redrawing the Mona Lisa.

Gonna need a lot of red crayons.

There was no show Bible. None of the season was planned in advance. There were no character backstories written. I know Breaking Bad did this to a certain extent, but they had more competent writers.
