I can admire deeply held and sincere beliefs, but when people think that those beliefs should extend to everyone and become public policy...I find that very hard to admire.

I’m not really down with championing anyone who is actively promoting an an anti-choice agenda as a “hero,” no matter what their religious beliefs.
Apparently in Texas you do not have to identify yourself to the police unless you are under arrest. So if they arrested her for not identifying herself, they got the law backwards.
“... the only difference between him and a Republican is that he says he’s not one.”
This is not entirely true. If she had sex with a man and didn’t penetrate his body in some way with a foreign object, it’s simple sexual assault, not rape.
My understanding has always been that rape specifically refers to some form of penetration. In that case, it’s also possible, since we have basically no details of what happened, that she’s guilty of sexual assault but not rape.
Apparently a statement that essentially says “This was completely my fault, I have caused serious irreparable harm, I apologize profusely, and I will do my best to avoid doing it again” is rape apologism? I guess they wanted her to just say “I AM A DOGSHIT HUMAN BEING WHO RAPED SOMEONE”
·This reminds me of Epicurus :
The above leads us to conclude that either
CNN and MSNBC both interviewed the former head of the college this morning. He confirmed that security guards were not armed.
All major religions are fucked up patriarchies! Just a reminder.
When four people testify in direct contradiction to what Owen Labrie claimed happened, DNA evidence existed and a physical exam came back consistent with rape and he still gets acquited of all the major charges, that shows you just how seriously America takes rape. For rich, white guys that is.
You know what, I’m going to copy&paste a really good post I saw on Tumblr. Not my words, but I wish they were because they are so right.
I donate money every month to Planned Parenthood and will continue to do so for as long as I need to because of these bullshit attacks.
Maybe the thing that freaks the shit out of people is that a human being can do both good things and outrageously bad things. Anyone who says he didn’t have a positive impact on our culture is lying, to try to distance themselves from who he really is. Anyone who says he isn’t an insidious rapist is also lying, to try…
It’s been a rough year for retailer J. Crew. The brand has suffered plummeting sales in large part because of its…
Eh, she’s talking about herself and her concerns. I’m not going to think less of her for something so personal that she’s sharing.
I think he’ll be more fun when he is an ex-Prez. Obama is only truly free in moments like this, when he gets to unleash his emotions and speak. The presidency shackles him. And there is NO chance he pulls a Bush II and hides away doing crappy paintings. He’s going to do something, and it will be a blast.
But why is it funny. You’re under no obligation to tell me why you think it’s funny, obviously, but to me it’s just more of the same ol’ “this bitch is prettier than this bitch” that none of us ladies need. What a predictable way to welcome Caitlyn to womanhood: through bitchery.
Why do you love this? I am asking seriously. Kris Jenner may not be the most honorable woman in the world, but it’s not like Caitlyn Jenner is a saint either. They’re both just people. And I would think someone who finally became the woman she was all along would not be down with the prettiness contest the rest of us…
