Pretty sure opinions can't be wrong. Facts can be wrong, not opinions. You can disagree with them of course, and you're very free to do so.

I love the ignorant masses here talking about how bad this and how its unfair. That is just garbage. If you don't like it, leave. If you can handle it, stay. It's not like the competition isn't doing the same effing thing, Amazon charges more for subscription content on the kindle, why isn't anyone up in arms

That is ridiculous. How is a non-print pricing policy going to cause the demise of print?

"Fair" doesn't dictate the policies that Apple can lay out. If you don't like them, you can leave. If you're willing to deal with them, then stay. "Fair" has nothing to do with it.

Great news for you, I've heard from my sources inside apple (store.apple.com) that they will CONTINUE to sell the iPhone 4 to the public.

@Java-Princess: so far the planet has been relatively fortunate, with the wind taking whatever radioactive steam out to sea. while not ideal to put radiation in the sea, it is the best place for it as far as humanity is concerned.

I play Tiny Wings while waiting for Black Ops to matchmake.

The only reason I pay for Netflix is because it's more convenient than pirating movies and TV shows. Once that simplicity goes away, the studios will get NO money from me anymore.

"[...] putting an extra price tag on already pricy hardware could hamstring the whole effort". Seriously? You think they are going to sell any less MacBooks because facetime is 0.99? The reason, even though i don't like it, is clearly to get people on the Mac App Store and to get their credit card info in it.

they gave a preview of ios4 last year in april if i remember correctly.

Apple always does something clever with their announcements. Last year it was a 4 in the background with the foreground being a shadow, hinting at background processes (or faux-multitasking). This year they show an iPad with one app icon showing: maps. I believe this is a hint that the iPad and iPhone (and iPod

Tommy Pickles from Rugrats all grown up!

As John Grubber mentioned on [daringfireball.net] maybe the industry isn't dying, but the CD sales were just an anomaly.

They should have distinguished between Verizon DSL and Verizon FIOS. a 700kbps connection should not be averaged with the 25mbps connections.

@katiefulton: With your use case, i agree that a mobile solution would make an enormous difference. I just don't think thats a typical use case. Only a select minority of people watch TV or movies on their phones. Netflix said that releasing an iPhone app had no effect on subscriptions. I have Hulu on my phone and

Netflix is on most bluray players, ps3 wii, xbox 360, apple tv and google tv. Hulu is on computers and the ps3 and a few high end bluray players. If they want everyone to use it, make it so everyone can use it. I don't want to watch tv shows on my 22" monitor in my office when i have a 50" tv in my living room.

@katiefulton: I don't think lacking mobility is the issue. Netflix is on most bluray players, ps3 wii, xbox 360, apple tv and google tv. Hulu is on computers and the ps3 and a few high end bluray players. If they want everyone to use it, make it so everyone can use it. I don't want to watch tv shows on my 22"

I'm still waiting for the flood of text book publishers jumping on the iPad bandwagon. I can't imagine how Apple is not pushing hard on book publishers to put textbooks on here and give it a killer, first party, text book app. Then colleges could say buy an ipad, roll it into your tuition loans, and you'd have

@Apotheosis: The only useful thing i've thought of for a rear facing camera if for augmented reality applications. that could be pretty slick. obviously not a deal-breaker, but useful for the additional 30 cents of cost for apple.

@Bluetooth: Damn it! That thefastest guy is a douche
