@BeefSupreme: If this was the case, I agree this would be a very very bad thing. In reality, you have to accept peoples requests to follow you just like you accept facebook friends before they see your private information. I do not authorize strangers or the gap to see my latitude location

@Slinkytech: "If someone can build it, someone can unbuild it." -The Score

Just a heads up. EVDO does not stand for "data only," it stands for Evolution-Data Optimized.

That is incredible. I have always wondered how much data usage would be used with Google maps constantly downloading maps, especially if a user was on a metered plan. I can only imagine how gorgeous this will look when using it for turn by turn navigation with real-time buildings being drawn. Built in turn by turn

@twig05: Right I understand that. By saying "he was arrested" repeatedly the connotation was that some impressive police work was done, when in reality he showed up and put his hands out to be cuffed. Reminds me of when Kevin Spacey was arrested in Se7en

I love how the story refers over and over again to Assange being "arrested." He turned himself in. They didn't hunt him down or find him, he turned himself in.

I like the points. I like that all of these things are very reasonable and not impossibly obtainable requests.

@nctrns: Have you stopped to think about WHY they would not allow it? After all, by not offering that feature they are selling less iWhatevers and less apple tvs. I guarantee if they had a working solution that worked well, it'd be out there and i'd buy an apple tv and use airvideo.

@Apostropartheid: And the iPhone is incapable of streaming video from the screen in it's current state. If that bothers you so much, then go use he competitors product that allows you to stream video to the screen. Good luck finding one.

@monkeybusiness: While i agree with you, i often find that free wifi or even hotel wifi is slower than my 3g service.

@nctrns: "can't use the device the way you want to." Stop being so whiny. Do you also bitch that your windows mobile 6 device can't change the oil in your car? That must be frustrating that you can't use your phone the way you want to. How about the phone doesn't have a feature you want, and no other phone on the

@Robusto68: Well Amazon released a statement saying it wasn't political pressure. I wasn't asking for more arbitrary sources claiming to know something but not proving it, which is exactly what you provided.

@Robusto68: One more thing. You are just plain wrong. Amazon came out and said it wasn't from political pressure.

@Robusto68: What laws have been broken here? To my knowledge, there has not been a single law broken (please prove me wrong, i admit that i could just be ignorant of the situation). If a law was allegedly broken, where is the trial? Here in the United States, you're innocent until proven guilty. Stop blaming the

@Robusto68: I don't understand your point at all. You think Amazon got scared because the government "came to talk to them?" The government can't even get Amazon to charge sales tax for a majority of the states in the country, I don't see how a phone call is going to make them drop a web site being hosted.

@Robusto68: Yeah that doesn't article doesn't cite any proof that anyone actually said there was any political pressure. They say "reaction to heavy political pressure" but don't cite who or what pressure, just says there was some. Next paragraph states "[...] 24 hours after being contacted by the staff of Joe

Where is the documentation regarding the claim that they were "pressued by the US government?"

@Darwinist: How long has it lasted for you?

Add two cable cards, make it a dvr. Give it a disgustingly easy interface like apple. make it stream all kinds of stuff from your home computers and give it an xbmc interface. with google's resources, i'm shocked thats the best the could come up with.

@TRT-X: I had no interest in reading the article until i saw your quote. Into the link i go...
