After experiencing the 360 RROD, I’m now indeed afraid of buying the first manufacturing batch. I generally prefer Slim models anyway. I used to move around a lot and having a console that was almost as thin as a laptop (PS4 slim) was extremely convenient. They also look prettier in my opinion.

And if it was really possible to create pinprick-sized electronics that can transmit reliably, imagine how many problems that would solve right away. Like the lack of reception from T-Mobile inside some buildings in my area!

Can’t remember the exact numbers but I had an 08 Ford Fusion with 16" wheels and I think the sidewall was 60? Struck a pothole during a harsh winter and the wheel was perfectly fine and maintained its shape. The tire developed a worrisome impact bubble, but remained usable long enough for me to get to a shop and

I have a pathological hatred for oversized wheels with stupidly thin low-profile tires, especially on sedans.

Interesting observation is how most of these imported exotics are left-hand-drive despite being in Japan. Apparently Japanese owners of European cars prefer to import LHD models via the US to stand out even more. A lot of toll booths even have a special LHD lane for these guys.

Tell that to Quebec which has so much excess hydroelectric power that it sells it to border states and is able to run datacenters very cheaply.

I made that assumption and paid dearly for it.

Hell yeah, top-trim normal cars = 90% of the luxury/features for 50% of the money. I can easily afford a 3-series or an A4, but I’ll save money and get a physically larger car with more features.

You can get the Camry with a V6 and AWD. It’s not going to even pretend to rival Germans in cornering and so on, but it’ll get up to speed on the freeway in a fun way and handle wet conditions as expected.

Are you me? I’ve been preaching this for years!

Awesome! Even with power strips I often run out of outlets and don’t want to risk an overload by daisy chaining strips. So the ability to charge at a reasonable rate over USB is a godsend. I can charge my phone while gaming without needing to occupy an outlet!

If you want a bit of spare cash without sacrificing your ability to play older games, it makes sense to sell or trade in now that both MS and Sony have committed to backwards compatibility.

Not everyone in America lives in SF, NYC, LA, etc. If you live in “flyover country” you probably can own a detached house with a garage on a five figure salary.

FYI even all physical collections from the XB1/PS4 onwards require a lot of internal storage space. Games cannot be run directly from the disc anymore and always have to be installed. Many games will make the first level or so uncompressed so you don’t have to wait too long, but the rest of the game will still install

Far Cry 2. So much potential but the stupid respawning checkpoints and the malaria made me rage quit.

You can lend discs to friends. Can't do that with digital games unless you share your account password as well.

I’m very left wing, but unless this guy actually attacked or harassed someone, there is nothing to charge him with.

Exactly, there’s nothing wrong with buying a fancier car if you can afford it (I can) and you like cars. I’d rather do a long commute on heated leather seats with Bluetooth streaming, than in some 1999 Corolla with nothing.

By “fancier” car I’m talking about a slightly used top-trim Ford/Toyota btw (currently drive a

I have a credit card and I live well below my means... I can’t say no to those points.

Let’s be honest, the people who lease the lowest end BMWs (e.g. the X1, 320i, etc) wouldn’t even notice if overnight, their powertrains suddenly morphed into what a Yaris has.
