I can intellectually appreciate that desire, but I increasingly feel that baby-making has become something like home-ownership: there’s this really hard-to-fight sense that they’re somehow fundamental rights, but that’s just not true. Both require tremendous resources that are just out of reach for many of us.

I feel a bit like a garbage person because of it, but I just can’t empathize with complaints about the cost of raising children.

Sorry, but you’re quite wrong. Airlines are just as much public transport as buses, subways, or ferries. Who runs them is immaterial. You show up, pay a fee, and share a vehicle with strangers.

And that is exactly the sort of petty bullshit the airlines should ignore. Live and let live.

If it’s safe to fly with an obnoxious baby on board, it’s safe to fly with obnoxious YouTube bros on board. People just like to punish people who annoy them.

So what if they’re shouting? It’s a public conveyance - and sometimes the public is annoying. You don’t kick a baby off a flight just because its bawling is annoying. So long as they weren’t actually endangering anyone, the best way to deal with annoying people is simply to ignore them.
