If Chappelle were just voicing legitimate concerns, why did he have to put on that performance at the meeting? He could have flexed to the council in an email, or in a private meeting. It does not add up to the counter narrative in his defense.

1.75 acres is 76,230 square feet. That is much larger than an average family home. A house that was 76K sq ft would be the 11th largest house ever built in the US.

Nah, just an apologia on behalf of Chappelle from a perennial pennant-waver.

Yep. Fuck him. I’m sure his “I’m RICH, BIATCH” shtick will be ably supported by the fucking Larry the Cable Guy set.

In case you were wondering if Dave Chappelle has gone full asshole, yeah, he’s apparently willing to pull all his investments out of a town if poor people move there.

Wow. What an absolute cock. He’s really into his “pull up that fucking ladder” stage of life.

I’m surprised that he can utter that word so many times and just not ever ever EVER think about the consequences of it.
Like...I know he’s a meathead, but what’s his level? Because this is somewhere between caveman and that first caveman who died discovering not to drink your own bodily fluids.

Yeah, constitutional rights and shit make policing too hard, and policies protecting citizens take the fun out of being a cop.

No. The reason there were so many clips of him doing it is that every time someone would get in trouble for saying it in that meta way, he would make a point of saying the n-word with a hard r on his show to basically say that usage is fine. He did it as recently as 2018. So when he says it was “years ago”, that

This is a great summation of the issue.  No one owes Joe Rogan the benefit of the doubt in the first place, and absolutely doesn’t owe him any leniency after the “Planet of the Apes” comment or the comment about mixed-race people getting ‘the best of both worlds... a black mans body and a white womans brain’.

However, Ek also made it clear that “silencing” Rogan was not an option and that “in order to achieve our goal of becoming the global audio platform, these kinds of disputes will be inevitable.”

Rogan was trying to defend his stance by saying the word came up organically in conversation...
...But, I’m of the mind that if that kind of person ever utters the N-word, it’s probably not for anything else but to act racist or talk shit about black people.

Frankly, fuck Joe Rogan (for so many reasons.) However, this snippet of his explanation (which is the only part quoted above, so I’m assuming it’s the most damning,) does not strike me as all that out there:

His office said that under the moratorium, a no-knock warrant can only be used if there is an imminent threat of harm, and even then the warrant must be approved by the chief.

That’s good, all that had to happen was a bunch of activists had to chase him off stage asking why the cops are kicking in multiple people’s doors and just murdering folks for no fucking reason. Dude ran out of his own press conference but I guess it’s good he’s hitting the pause button NOW

Meanwhile every other police chief, mayor, judge, legislator, or anyone else involved in still allowing and executing these will wait until someone in their jurisdiction dies as a result and it makes front page news to discover that they are inherently horrible ideas. Somehow expecting them to exhibit a modicum of

I expect a longer statement from the police union on how stopping the warrants will “endanger public safety” and “make police work more difficult”.

Way too late to the party, Frey.

I can’t imagine anyone being lesser than the six Republican hacks stinking up the Court now.

It seems to me that even his clarification is disqualifying, as I don’t know which is worse, the underlying assumption that the administration can’t find a Black woman worthy of being championed by one of his “reasonable people” or the fact that he thinks the Supreme Court has any credit left at which identity
