From what I’ve seen, the Motus V4 isn’t far off from that... If I recall correctly, the Motus v4 uses the coil packs from an LS1... and it’s a pushrod V4.
One of these Motus V4 engines, front mid-engine mounted in a Miata you say... that’d probably be amazing. Now if I could just hit the jackpot on MegaMillions/PowerBall so I could afford to spend the money on that V4...
Ah, the Motus American V4... someone needs to throw one of those crate motors they sell into a Beetle...
A Code 130R with a V8? That would be a handful... though, I bet it’d be a hoot.
Eh, it’s 0-60 is decent, but I think it’s stronger in the mid range... maximum torque comes in at something like 1,250 rpm and remains flat all the way up to 4,000 rpm... so pretty much, no matter what gear you’re in, if you put your foot down, it just goes. I kinda suspect BMW’s figures for it are underrated... I…
You mean, like an M2 CSL? That’d be sweet... even if it did have a sheet of cardboard as the floor of the trunk like the old M3 CSL.
No... a 2013 BMW 528i does not have an Inline 6. It has a 2.0 liter Turbocharged Inline 4 cylinder, which makes 241 hp @ 5,000 rpm and 258 lb·ft @ 1,250 rpm.
See for yourself.
Ever driven a BMW 528i? It’s a 5 series with a 240hp I4... my brother has one, and it’s a lot quicker than you would expect. If BMW can make a 5 series hustle with an I4, I’m sure GM can make a Camaro hustle with a 275 hp I4.
YES! I hate that the S.S. United States is just wasting away... it’s a cool ship, and it holds a World Record as well. It definitely deserves to be restored to its former glory, and sail again.
I hear what you’re saying, but there is the possibility that they could tweak the engine to make more torque.
Who knows... there might be. I’m mostly just going off of what I’ve heard in the rumor mill, so for all we know, there will be an option for the LT1 in the rear mid-engine Corvette.
There’s always the Camaro Convertible...
Yes.
I think it has something to do with air temperature and humidity content... warm dry air + mucus = cement snot. Especially overnight, when you’re asleep and not taking in fluids.
I think for a V6, that sounds pretty damned good... though, I will agree with the idea that there should never be anything less than a V8 in a Corvette.
There would be two different cars under the Corvette brand... the front mid-engine Corvettes that we have now, and then the rear mid-engine one which is undoubtedly on a different bespoke platform. And if they add in a small I4/V6 powered RWD coupe/convertible as an entry level model, that’d make 3 different models.
And…
I’ve suspected that Corvette would be spun-off of Chevy for a bit now... but I think the Camaro will remain a Chevrolet, taking the Corvette’s spot as Chevy’s “top dog” sports car offering. I suspect Corvette’s model line will be:
I dunno, man... The v6 Camaro sounds pretty decent...
Already saw a Sub do this when I was watching “Stargate: Continuum”...
