This is nothing new. A lot of these fashion companies don’t cater to or respect black women or their hair.
Often times on these types of shoots models aren’t allowed to adjust hair and makeup to suite their needs. J.Crew uses a professional hairstylist of their choosing for these shoots that doesn’t know or give a fuck about black hair and, unfortunately, the model has to accept that.
