She is correct that this film can give people the impression that all obese people are miserable but this was a play based on an obese man’s personal experience. We need to be able to tell all the stories, and this is one of them.

I give Jackson some leeway because he was forced to make the trilogy at gunpoint with no prep time after Del Toro bailed and basically under blackmail (the studios threatened to take the production out of New Zealand and give the trilogy to a completely different team who DNGAF).
