It makes me feel so much better. I don’t live anywhere near hurricane country, but I know that if I need to get out of dodge, I at least have something I can just grab instead of the panic of rooting through boxes in the back of the closet to find that one photo of my great grandparents. And that’s assuming I even

No, but they did find a trail of balloon animals.

Oh yeah, we already have our important documents and papers scanned and on a flash drive. We keep a backup of family photos with various relatives. I just have a ton of older photos and documents. Some of them can be scanned and copied (which I’m in the process of doing), but the quality on others just isn’t anywhere

Whether hysteria, hoaxes, or pranks, the clowns have invaded Michigan and have taken up some unsavory hobbies.

The area where I grew up just had a clown rob two hotels and fired shots at the police during the resulting car chase.

I actually keep a medium sized box full of family photos and mementos for something like this. If a disaster were to occur, and I had enough time to grab the bare minimum, I know I can grab that box and run out the door. It’s not foolproof, but it’s something.

I’m still working on that, although much better with it than before.

It’s not like a switch––that as soon as you get married, sex is okay. That guilt and shame still lingers, sometimes for years.

The one thing that can unite Linguists and English teachers everywhere: Trump must be stopped.

Annnnd, it looks like it doesn’t even exist, or at least not in the way that Trump wants to imply:

I’m a descriptivist and his grammar makes me cringe.

This. Many remind me of people who insist that everyone else is the problem and they are saints in every situation. They have done no wrong, everyone else has wronged them. That kind of thinking gives no room for introspection and an unwillingness (or inability) to listen to others. They don’t want to better

There can also be an embarrassment factor. My parents are hoarders and their house is an absolute nightmare. Growing up, it happened kinda gradually, but my parents started to refuse to allow people to visit our house. We couldn’t have friends over and my parents would flip their shit if anyone not family glimpsed the

Sadly, sometimes it takes a reality kick-in-the-butt to wake some people up, and even then, some people are so set in their ways that they refuse to give up a false belief. I’m very, very happy that she was able to change her mind, and that the change came from a relatively minor illness rather than something like

Maybe that’s what the GOP is planning right now. They can’t get rid of Trump, so they’re just letting him run wild. If Clinton wins, the plan is to whine/complain/impeach her, and hope to grab the next election. If Trump wins, let him fall under the weight of his shady and illegal background, and then they can prop up

But Americans don’t seem to care about what is true anymore...

From what I gathered in the limited interactions that we had, she didn’t believe that allergies were all that bad or that serious allergies existed. I vaguely remember her saying something to management about how I wasn’t sneezing, therefore I was lying and “harassing” her.

Same. Our house can only use specific brands/types of dishwasher soap, because my husband can actually taste the residue from some brands. Luckily for us, Aldi brand is fine.

On the plus side, no one would notice that I’m coated in cat fur when I leave the house.

It was more like $80, the total shopping bill was $100. And I had just found larder beetles on my carpet, tucked away in all of those little corners and crevices, under the couch, etc.
