Run Silent, Run Dieppe

Yeah, Kay was awesome. It was pretty galling that after she passed the sergeant's exam in s4 the show found less rather than more for her to do in s5. And I'm cynical enough to suspect that it was more than just the John Heard thing that led to Melissa Leo's ouster. Bearing in mind that several years before NBC had

It feels weird that we lost John Hurt and John Heard in the same year.

Yeah, the whole stalking-Melissa-Leo episode us the first thing I think of about John Heard. I believe the fear of negative policity caused NBC to dump Leo from H:LOTS and then Tom Fontana invented some bullshit cover story, about how there was a problem with the character of Kay Howard and that was why Leo was let

The Evil Dead film trilogy is sort of unique in that all three films are tonally distinct from each other, yet they're all beloved and I'm not sure if there's any consensus favourite. Like, I can't see controversy or heated arguments breaking out over which one you pick as best. My personal favourite is the original

American Werewolf is usually tagged as a horror comedy, but to me it's a straight horror movie with funny moments. The comedic bits, more often than not, don't undermine the scary moments. I think it's a funnier film than The Howling even though The Hiwling is more overtly tongue-in-cheek. Landis' reputation as a

Freddy's Revenge is awsome for many reasons, and Clu Gulager is one of them.

Yeah, Gulager was cast late and hadn't had the rehearsal time the other actors had. Consequently he felt he didn't have a grip on the character and he didn't know what kind of movie he was in. He butted heads with O'Bannon but after the movie's premiere he hugged him.

I also liked Olivia Newton-John showing up in the last panel of MAD's Saturday Night Fever parody, with Travolta remarking that if Grease is a success, he can leave Welcome Back, Kotter behind.

Don't forget Jerry Levine, my good man.

But he never lost his head, even when he was bein' Zmed.

Well, with his asshole behaviour, wanting credit for everything despite a lack of talent, and penchant for wearing goofy caps, Trump has already been Mike Love. But I'd rather he ape Dennis than Brian Wilson, 'cause at least then there's a good chance he'll go drown in the fucking ocean.

Judge Doom and the Weasels would make a better WH administration than Trump and his cronies.

Since the beginning of time, man has yearned to destroy the sun!

How about we put Trump into Optimus Prime in truck mode, then Optimus transforms into robot mode, pulpifying Trump in the process?

Well, yeah, but I imagine nobody involved with the making of the film (Hooper? Mark Victor & Michael Grais? The cast?) will record a commentary or share their memories of the film, in light of the whole director controversy.

Would I be right in thinking the reason we have never gotten a Poltergeist DVD/Blu-ray with decent special features (audio commentaries, retrospective documentaries, etc) is because of the hush-hush nature of who the film's real director was?

Oh, the early 1980s sure had great MILFtastic screen presences. See also Blair Brown in Altered States.

Yeah, wasn't Hooper (and De Palma) regular William Finley supposed to play that role, before Spielberg recast it with his assistant?

Look at Mr Optimism here, acting like the world will still exist in 2020.
