"Like a Prayer" owes a lot to "Underground."

Buddy Hodges is realised so perfectly. The purple necktie; the way he holds his cigarette; his casually dismissive attitude towards Milhouse; his reference to "playing Rum Tum Tugger in the second national touring of Cats"… He's frigging hilarious even before he breaks down. I would say he's one of the best one-off…
"…You know, kids, I’m sure we’d all like to remember actor Dirk Richter for his portrayal of Radioactive Man, and not the sordid details of his final years, so let’s keep the questions tasteful, okay?”
Even if he doesn't get convicted, at least Cosby lived to see his reputation go to tatters. Jimmy Savile was in the ground before the shit he did came to light…
I liked Perry Como better when he was Perry Mason.
And Tim "Tuvok from Star Trek: Voyager" Russ is the "We ain't found shit!!!" guy.
Altman made a better stab at science-fiction with Countdown.
"I need something before I die!"
"Your St. Jude medal?"
"No, a martini! Shaken, not stirred!"
"Boy, once a role becomes "classic," there's no letting go, is there?"
If we're talking dodgy geopgraphy in movies… I'm pretty sure in The Wanderers, Ken Wahl turns one corner to get from the Bronx to Greenwich Village.
That theme music gets played every year when the winner is announced at the Brownlow Medal night (the highest individual award in Australian Rules Football).
The "Nice house I said nice house" bit bugs me, but I think it's down to sloppy editing rather than a bizarre line reading. Nitti doesn't say "Nice house I said nice house" in one take. Seems like there should have been a pause or a reaction shot from Ness in between, but instead Nitti's line got stitched together…
I loved the Mad parody. Expecially the baseball bat scene:
The plot of Mamet's The Verdict hinges on the lawyer (Paul Newman) totally ignoring his client's wishes and pursuing a case rather than settling. Mamet's grasp of legal procedures is…dubious.
The last 20 minutes of Child's Play 2 will never be surpassed in terms of toy factory shenanigans on film.
They might have set each other on fire. Because Happiness is a Warm Gunn.
Years ago they were Young Gunns.
I'm pretty sure I read a recent news article bearing the depressing news that Roger is no longer buff and is now frail and arthritic. :(
"Cool, groovy, morning, fine/Tipper Gore was a friend of mine."
And for a bit of edginess, add Lydia Lunch.
MINT!
