Morgan’s ok.  The ‘Life is precious’ act is old, sure, but he’s still likeable. Rosita though? Holy hell. She’s turning into the new Lori.

I will take my car, and run over your hat and thimble. Car or I’m not playing. And Grandmom can’t be the banker. She cheats.

Same here. I load it up, get the one Pokestop near me, get my first catch, and leave it running if I’m walking around to click off the Kilometers. Otherwise I barely play it unless I’m near a stop for a long period of time, or on the move.

I still play every day. I’m not sure why. It’s just passive fun. One day it will be better and I’ll be the very best!

Uh, yes? If you cannot deal with the fact that the world’s largest country will exercise power over an area in which it is a regional hegemon, you are a fucking moron. Maybe the US will be “less strong” than China. So what? The US has not been deeded the world in perpetuity and should, in fact, be more humble in the

The US should get into some sort of partnership that includes countries from both sides of the Pacific and try to exclude China from it to strengthen our position in the area.

For as much criticism Tolkien gets for the lack of female characters in his work (considering he was an Edwardian Oxford don, sort of anachronistic in itself), Eowyn is one very powerful female character. I remember when Miranda Otto uttered those words, the theater crowd went wild.

Delivered with perfection by Miranda Otto. That scene is one of the most powerful in the whole trilogy (IMHO).

pardon LOR - Eowyn:

“Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you’ll know tomorrow.”

They wanted to get a jump on the Browns in locking up Jeff Fisher to a long term deal.

I feel for her, but I’m not going back.

When I saw his portrait at the top of the site, I immediately said “Are you fucking kidding me?”

I’ve given up on TED talks. I used to find them interesting but then they started going down pseudoscience lane.

I’m a nurse with 30 years experience, and I can tell you that the survival stats for patients who arrest in the hospital where the code team can start treating them within mere minutes are terrible. So I am not going to be optimistic about 15 minutes (because it isn’t just 15 minutes) until I hear more.

And, in case you need more Venture Christmas in your life...

I love POI and only got into it because io9 was always promoting it, fwiw.

Opie’s death was one of the most powerful moments of TV I’ve ever seen. It was just....fuck.

Now playing

Person of Interest...still hurtin’ from this one...
