Mahomes got lucky with Reid. Despite his flaws, he’s one of the few coaches who is willing to adapt to the talent he has, rather than the talent he wants. Mahomes reminds me of Rodgers, who seemingly wins despite his head coach, rather than being complimented by his head coach’s offensive schemes.

Game 7 of the ECF in 1982. Pick up about 6:30 in this clip and watch til the end.

You would think, but there’s not a lot of turnover that I’ve noticed, so the wages can’t be that bad. At the stand closest to where I sit (I have season tickets) the same four guys have been working that stand every NHL and NBA game for at least 15 years or so.

Without evidence, my gut says its a way to minimize legal liability in case someone consumes too much and causes an accident or other legal issue. Out of state and over 25 is targeting people most likely to drive, and the high college aged population in the city (Boston). If ever sued the venue can point and say “We

My local sports arena has a policy that any out-of-state ID has to show 25 or above before they’ll sell you alcohol. In state IDs and Passports are 21.

Somewhere Barry Melrose and his mullet are nodding in agreement.

It’s probably Taco Neck Syndrome. Mookie getting everyone free tacos last night, isn’t going to help.

“What’cha gonna do when boooookemia runs wild over you?”

That’s another great strategy. If someone is being really belligerent and obnoxious towards you as a visitor, odds are, you aren’t the only one they are going to annoy. The type that would pick a fight with a non-engaging stranger will self-select and generally get thrown out/pass out pretty quickly. It’s when the

The last two possession of that game was a race to the bottom in terms of stupidity. I wish both franchises could have lost.

Arizona’s play has made a lot of fans sick, but it’s a dry heave.

I’m a Pats fan. I’ve been to games at Buffalo and at the Jets and had fun times at both. You just have to be in control of yourself. If you drink, keep it controlled. If people yell stuff, ignore them, or laugh and diffuse the situation that way. If someone is really belligerent get security or leave the area.

The chant “We want a pitcher, not a belly-itcher.” still has a nice ring to it.

When the score is oogly to boogly, you gotta lamp the minstrel with a lorry’s wanker. OASIS RULES!

That’s fair, and I won’t argue that people like Sully don’t exist, and harbor that perspective. You can pretty much find anyone to support any outlandish position on any topic. The question is how representative is that of the population in general. That’s why I’d argue it’s a bit straw man (especially for this

There’s some lovely filth over here.”

The first part of your statement feels a little straw man. The fatalism of the “Boston Sports Fan” died in 2004, and really hasn’t been around since, except in memory. Obviously there has been umbrage taken at certain things, especially involving the Patriots, and that’s been fuel for motivation, but that’s a pretty

That’s fair. Though I don’t think cheering for a specific teams is necessarily boorish, unless you experience some Jekyll/Hyde transformation when a game is on. I have season tickets for the Sox and Bruins. It’s my 18th season for the Bruins and 15th for the Sox, so I’ve seen a lot of games and a lot of different type
