Premiering next Sunday after NFL on NBC, a new series from Dick Wolf, “NFL Law and Order”
There’s a great podcast from almost a decade ago between Bill Simmons and NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton. In a wide-ranging discussion that discusses everything from Studds Terkel to Dylan and Drumsets, one thing that always stuck out was Walton lamenting how sports are too organized (and this was said 18 years after…
Memento Mori Motherfuckers!
When the mics work, they can be highly entertaining.
This! I live in an area that was heavily settled by Italian and Irish families. So we have a ton of local pizza joints owned by Italian (and in one case a Greek family) families doing great pies. There was a Papa John’s once, but it lasted a year. Dominos hangs on, but I still cant comprehend ever ordering from there…
It’s gonna be so awesome when the Dodgers get Hershisher and Astros get Ryan warming up in the pen.
One of the weird things to come out of Deflategate were emails about the parenting of Brady-Bundchen-Moynihan, and they all appear to be very cool about it.
Goodell’s father was a Republican Congressman from NY, who was appointed to fill RFK’s seat in the Senate after RFK was assassinated. As Senator he opposed the war in Vietnam and drew the ire of Nixon and got into a public feud with Spiro Agnew (one of the most corrupt pre-Trump politicians in US history). The efforts…

Don’t forget, most people going to the parks are already spending a significant amount of money to get there as most are pretty remote and are in the West. I try to do one national park a year, and I live on the East Coast. $50-70 isn’t unreasonable, when I’ve already spent several hundred just to get there.
I agree. I was out at Grand Teton/Yellowstone first week of October last year, and it was crazy. The parks need all the funds they can get to manage the crowds and mitigate crowd impact on the environments.
Also, if I recall, the entry fee is good for a week, at least at Yellowstone.
Further more, if the GOP were actual rational business people, they wouldn’t touch the parks. The National Parks cost about $3 billion a year out of the federal budget. They generate about $20 billion a year in economic benefits to the communities that surround the parks. And most of these communities would otherwise…
I think that’s dying out. I have decent status on one of the legacy carriers, and I’ve gotten the upgrade after having boarded a few times.
I did two weeks in Europe in July with a Timbuk2 Wingman duffel (which is smaller than a typical overhead roller) and a small backpack for electronics/valuables. It was a mix/business pleasure trip, and was pretty easy.
