I assume the head unit also has its own tracking equipment and that the camera is for tracking your actual location and added accuracy. Much like the DS4 and PSMove have motion control but the camera tracks your location, distance from camera etc.

There are studios like BluePoint that specialise in remasters. Then you have people like WayForward that churn out original content and remasters/remakes alike. It doesn’t have to be the OG devs.
