Two important things I learned from watching Blues Clues with my kids. A song to remember the planets in order and "If you lose something.... Go back! Go back! Go back to where you were."

When my mom switched all her old recipes from lard (and ocassionally bacon grease) she replaced it with shortening. Though, it worked for most things, she swears she's never turned out a decent pie crust since.
When asked to explain a piece of art, I've heard a number of creative people claim they have no explanation for how they came up with specific aspects of their art. Stephen King credits the creation source of his stories and characters to "the boys in the basement" working away in his subconscious while he does other…
Like the man at Simple Dollar I had to search quite awhile to find the five items needed to get 15 percent discount, but I limited myself to nonfood items, because I didn't want to take the time to figure out how to work something like cereal for which I might want Cheerios one month, but Rice Krispies the next. I…
That's all true and good advice. Sometimes though, I think walking for exercise has a semi-reputation of being wimpy or as a gateway exercise to more vigorous workouts. What I think is important about the study is that it reaffirms walking as a fine exercise option and that the health benefits are maybe greater than…
I wonder if I throw in a towels pierced with half a dozen safety pins into the dryer will it save me from being repeatedly and painfully zapped in my ears when I'm not careful to keep my dangling earbud cords from contacting the laundry as I take it out?
Just like heating plates before serving a meal! Good idea.
I always worry more about the coffee in my cup staying hot as long as possible. Tervis cups work really well to keep it hot for as long as it takes me to drink it, by the way, but maybe I start out with a too cool brew water right from the start.
It works during social phone calls as well. I don't mind talking with some of my long winded relatives as much when they are distracting me while I pick up or fold laundry.
No matter what solution you use, for best results make sure your skin is completely dry before applying and before putting on clothing. This is especially important if you have taken a hot shower/bath. A blow dryer on cool works really well for a quick dry off.
I have used Corel Photo Paint 6 since the mid-nineties.
As soon as I hear the word "GLUTEN" anything and everything in my self that is tolerant and open to new ideas slams the door, covers my ears and sings the "Do you like pancakes?" jingle over and over again.
Several years ago my mother and I were by the Splash Zone for the Tidal Wave ride at Busch Gardens. There were tons of kids around. I looked down and saw a folded 20$ bill on the ground. I could not make myself pick it up because, I am a wimp and cannot stand the thought of someone's misfortune being my fortune…
I am an "action" Wine Drinker. I don't sit and sip or chill and swill -at least on vacation. Last summer, I drank wine out of a disposal coffee travel mug because it's harder than you might think to drink wine from a goblet on a boat or playing bocce ball or fishing off the dock without spilling it all over…
I know, right. He keeps getting better with age. Even Louis CK thinks he's beautiful.
I totally agree! I wish he could narrate my life. He does a great job on "Neverwhere" as well
Very good suggestions. I have listened to several including all the "Game of Thrones" books. Roy Dotrice does a great job & he narrates all but one.
A paste made from baking soda and good quality dish washing detergent works on all my fussy cookware, countertops and my flat cooktop.
That was the loveliest meatloaf recipe I have ever read.
I don't what else, but if you have an attached garage there is still danger. In my town, an elderly couple and two middle school girls might still be alive if they had one. Of course, they would still be alive if someone had not left a vehicle running in their respective home's garage, but that is another matter.
