Yeah. Once I'd had a few turns on both systems it came down to this: I loved the "Euro" system during the semester, then loved the US system when I came exam time and I was sweating it all coming down to one big grade! (Esp if I didn't jive well with a professor. A single oral exam is brutal in that [thankfully rare]

Yeah. My first couple semesters I worked really hard to keep up all semester because it made me nervous to let it all come down to my own studying at the end. Then I relaxed into the system. It ended up working fine. Except for the one or two times it didn't, haha. Then it hurt to suck up one big answer on one big

Absolutely. Let me. To mislead anyone. "European" is very general and certainly does not cover all situations. I'm speaking of what is classically most common in the system(s). But that is not "all" by any means, no.

In most European universities and courses, there's no particular onus on the student all semester long. You go to class- if you want; you read he course material - if you want. Whatever. You can fuck off and party all semester long, if you want. (In my European grad schools my "native" housemates all made fun of me

I have no idea what you're talking about re:US university being more accessible than in other countries. In my experience it is exactly the opposite (at least vs. European countries anyway). I never understood the discrepancy re: how many in the population traditionally go to university FOR that exact reason.

Pimms and gin! You, my friend, know how to Summer.

lol. I read "professional jazz dream interpreters". I guess cause I was pituring your dream as taking place in a broadway theater. Anyhoo...

Dude. Are you using Fever Tree? It makes such a difference! (And try Bulldog gin with red grapefruit or rosemary in lots of gin types.)

I have detested g&t my whole life. Until last summer, when I suddenly went ape shit for it. I LOVE it now. To the point that me - notoriously non-alcohol-inclined, 2 drink social maxinista - can barely stop myself from drinking them at home every night to celbrate "just because"! Heaven!

I ain't even mad. She's losing her edge as professional troll. #lulz

Forgive me, but she's 15; they're 19. How does that not fall within the stat rape law? 19 does not fall within 48 months of 15.

I admit to liking Maroon 5, and having once found Levine attractive. But cologne/perfume has long been my line in the sand for anyone claiming to want to be seen as an "artist". (Goddamn PERFUME?!?!) UGH!

I had not seen that. Thank you.

Disagree. A living piece of history that barely exists anywhere anymore is better (in the sense of "more interesting") than another museum which you ca find in 100 other places.

But it seems pretty disingenuous to be unable/willing to see 1000 years of royal history as anything more than slaves and colonies, yet allow the US government's (e.g.) slavery history, Native American land theft and genocide be just a sorry little thing in it's past that doesn't represent all that it is.

Except anti-royalists like to overlook that the royal family brings in hoards of tourism €$¥. Like them or not, they are a UK brand, and most probably their most profitable one.

Where do you live then?

Because they are a very rare example of an ancient surviving tradition. (Yes they've changed and blah blah blah. You should get what I mean though.) There are arguments to be made against the idea of keeping a royal family, sure. And acknowledging them, I still, for one, love that they still exist (yet no, I do not in

yes that is annoying. dead on balls accurate .
