But is it racist when someone talks about an Italian village as "European"?

Culturally ignorant, definitely. Racist? Not so sure.

I remember at my university, white women with black men was a HUGE deal - among black women. My best friend dated a couple of black men over the years and she got a lot of hate from black females talking about "stealing out men" and junk like that. It was weird.

You're right about everything Susan. I'm so sorry to hear about your skin healing problems. Must be traumatic. I had the DIEP surgery (which is still not even very easy to find in the US even 10yrs later when Europe was doing it left and right even then - WTH?!) because I was also not a candidate for expanders due to

I think the point is that American Apparel is supposed to be ALL ABOUT "Made in the USA". I thought that was their Thing. The Thing that made them awesome, even though all they do is make plain overpriced cotton stuff. It was overpriced because it was Made in the USA! Which we understood and bought to support that

Yes, however it's also worth noting that I don't get the feeling she found "survivor" offensive or anything. My only discomfort with "survivor" is that is sounds like we fought and won and it's all over. But I live with the fear every day that it will come back (even though that has largely "settled down" it is always

Yes, people really have no idea how difficult and traumatic reconstruction is. My sister is now doing it and she was upset with me for "not preparing her" for that. I said, "I DID tell you, 1000 times!" You just can't fathom without going through it. Love what this woman has done.

I am useless at getting a gif to attach so here's this instead:

Thank you (and the commentor who posted his Sex Bomb routine). I remember ALL of this guy's shenanigans - including the Eurovision appearance - I had just somehow failed to realize it was all the SAME Russian douchebag skater who was such a sore loser to Evan Lysacek! It all comes together now. Funny dude. (And yes,

No. The main character insinuated that ("You don't belong to anyone." In fact, in French he said, "You're not an object."). The hijab wearer said if was about "God protecting me".

Sorry. That was you projecting. Presuming what was going to be said about the Muslim without even listening. That was totally not dissing on the hijab at ALL.

I was just thinking it might be better to do the semi-regular all (or mostly) female panel show episodes. That way the women are "THE woman on the panel" and under such awkward pressure. Would like to have caught that QI episode.

I've never seen that show (or maybe just never noticed it on the Guide because I didn't know what it was?!) but that's awesome. Thanks for introducing me!

Renee's first line is pulled RIGHT OUTTA MY HEAD re: Miley.

That one, I'm guessing, has a slim metal headband that hides very well in the hair.

Well done to Siriano! It's fun seeing a former reality show talent actually be, well, a TALENT! And to do be able to keep on after the show and do waht was meant to be done with his experience. Love this stuff (and love his Payless shoes, too)!

I find a lot of this marry/not-to-marry talk interesting because I did NOT ever see myself getting married. I never thought I'd find someone (as a spouse) who didn't make me feel suffocated or tied-down, etc etc. He wanted to marry, I did not. (I wasn't ANTI-marriage. I just had not really seen it in *my* future.) A

I would posit that it simply has to do with 2 things. 1 - when couples are more equal, one side isn't pressured to silently go along with the often-higher libido of the other one. If BOTH aren't in the mood, one is more likely to say so. And - 2 - More equal couples are probably better "friends" (those cliche model
