Yeah that really bugged me. Really, the relative simplicity of the supporting cast in the first season helped the narrative more than hinder it. It allowed the writers to focus on Walt's story while sketching in a world around him from which they could then draw as the situation required. That's not lazy

I guess I don't understand the point of this article beyond finding superficial flaws in a critically-acclaimed series in order to "prove" that it's not all that and a bag of chips. None of the arguments made here are original, nor are they particularly damning. There's no insight into why a show so flawed has

I almost thought he was having a heart attack or a stroke, until I realized they were portraying PERFECTLY what it feels like to have a severe panic attack. I had a similar event the other night and just seeing the terror in Hank's eyes reminded me of the real pain and sickness that come with something like that.

No way is Hank so gullible to believe anything Walt says. That look of absolute revulsion on his face and his almost inaudible "I don't even know who I'm talking to" (which must be a reference to Walt's famous "One Who Knocks" speech) show that there is no coming back from this. We're off the cliff now; all we can

Totally. If anything, Walt's mewling admission of his cancer's relapse only served to underscore just what a desperate, pathetic creature he is. Hank's expression wasn't reflecting that he's out of his depth; that was naked hatred, revulsion, and horror at what he was seeing.

That whole scene just drove me nuts with tension, but as soon as Walt pulled out that bug, my heart just about stopped. I knew the episode would be intense, but I never expected that moment, at least not so soon. I figured they'd leave it as a tease, both men now aware of the stakes, but then Walt stops walking

I always feel so bad for Jesse; poor guy just can't get up on both feet. He's such a sweet kid, it's so depressing how hard and cynical he's had to become.

Seriously, thank you so much for bringing up the towel. It stuck out at me at the time as oddly familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Jesus that's really fucking smart visual storytelling.
