I just refinanced $275k on my house at 2.375%, so I understand wanting to brag. I also refinanced my car loan at 1.89% with a $200 bonus for refinancing, which I think is much more relevant to this person as that is a rate on a car—not a house—and would save them $200 immediately and $40/mo, if they could get a deal…
For you to be paying less than $920/mo on the mortgage for a $280k house, you must either have an amazing rate lower than 2.4% (the historic average low is 2.88%) or have paid more than $44k as a down payment.
Additionally, some kids should not be letting their parents drive. Especially as they age.
I, too, love the Hot Mustard. While it it quite good on the McNuggets, it is great on the fries, and if you’re adventurous, it is excellent on a McDouble.
Came here to make the same comment. I always try to keep some Chik-Fil-A sauce around as it is the best dip for Wendy’s Spicy Nuggets. I suspect it will also excel with the new McDonald’s Spicy McNuggets, but I haven’t tested this theory yet.
DisneyNOW (streaming for Disney Channel subscribers through TV login) streams new DuckTales same day as air.
It can depend on the company, but usually refunds are simple either way as long as you’re within whatever cancellation windows are defined by the company. In my experience, refunds are usually given in the same form as the purchase. (e.g., points as points, cash as cash) However, cash is occasionally refunded as a…
I do find Scan & Go very useful, though I always pay with my phone at Walmart regardless. (It makes returns simpler.) I agree that Walmart does go hard on loss prevention, however in my eyes Scan & Go is no different than self checkout in that respect.
Sam’s Club has had Scan & Go for quite a while and it’s the only way I check out there. I’ve often complained that the Walmart app didn’t have the same functionality (as they are related companies), but I guess they were holding it to keep behind a paywall. :/
w00t! Thanks!
Alton Brown recommends making bacon on a waffle iron. I tend to use a George Foreman grill instead, which is mechanically the same device but also drains the fat into a tray for easier (read: less messy) saving.
Came here to say the same thing. I honestly thought this was what Torch was going for when I first saw the picture.
These are the kind of quality “life hacks” I come here for. Thank you! :)
I can’t speak to newer models, but my family barely fit in my ‘03 WRX wagon when my first child arrived. The car seat had to be on the passenger side and the passenger seat was almost all the way forward. Fortunately, my spouse is small; at 6' tall, I couldn’t fit with the car seat behind me. My second child=sold the…
I’m definitely not advocating people spend more than they can afford. I put 90% of my monthly expenses on credit cards and pay them off every month. If I can lower my utilization without lowering my spending (and thus increase my credit score), I don’t see where the problem is with this strategy.
