I saw Cranes open for The Cure on the Wish tour in 1992. They did perform “Starblood,” and I was hooked from that song on!

Thank you for this. I may present my own playlist here for consideration. I wish we had fka twigs, Zola Jesus or EMA on this one for modern day representation, but I very much appreciate the inclusion of Jules Cruise, and that is my all-time favorite Cranes song - it still gives me goosebumps.
If I may ask, are you happy with the results you got? I will admit to being curious about it.

Thank you for this Scorpio open thread! Both of my paternal aunts were super into astrology and I learned at a very early age (while voraciously reading their books) that Scorpio is by far my fave sign. Happy birthday to all the Scorp Jezzies - typically intense seekers of knowledge, driven to understand and to push…
I wonder if you are feeling nausea when you see this man because you really don’t like him? Sometimes one must trust one’s gut reaction. You may be warning yourself.
The writing on CDAN, at least when I read it, was always muddled. And that’s putting it nicely...
I am absolutely certain that WW Black is emulating Uber Black. Everyone wants some of that sweet sweet disruption money.
I’m so sorry for your loss. May there be abundant better days ahead for you soon. This thread has reopened memories that I have been suppressing of dreams of my ex since he committed suicide 15 years ago. Something about your story feels like a mirror of mine.
Mission Chinese is one of the aspects of San Francisco that I miss the most. Love that place. Love Danny Bowien too.
Drinking water from a refilling station and eating a cold grilled cheese under the light of this bright bright moon. Primus is playing in the distance (they just finished “My Name is Mud”). This is overall a very beautiful music festival and I’m sorry that it’s probably its one and only time being held at the…
If you’re referring to spaghetti squash, it’s the inside of a very specific squash that mimics pasta. Once roasted, you can eat it like pasta. It’s good for people who are seeking to reduce calories as well as people who are avoiding wheat.
I mainly knew of BB’s existence because Joel McHale was always mocking him on The Soup (R.I.P.).
You made me guffaw, and I’m a dour bitch. It reminds me of Addams Family Values, when Morticia Addams tells Fester’s girlfriend Debbie, “You have put Fester under some kind of weird sexual spell; I respect that.” I see we have the same type. \m/ \m/
I thought I was the only one...
I wish it had been filed to Florida Man, but perhaps that’s overly obvious.
Thank you for the Slayer reference. I, too, love this guy.
Starred for the Phi Phi O’Hara reference. Poor Phi Phi; just can’t lose that edge.
You know that ginger girl cats are super rare, right? Lucky you. We had our own orange gal (a senior beauty, uncreatively named Penny). She was the kitty love of my life.
Is your Nana from West Virginia, perchance? My magnificent Bamie (born in War, WV in 1925) was known to say many of those phrases. “We had to go down the road a fair piece” (“fair” pronounced “furr”) was one of her greatest hits.
