Yeah. He got his lifetime pass from me for The Station Agent, not for “overcoming incredible adversity.” Most of the Emmy’s embrace of GoT has felt like overcompensation, but not this.

Kaniehtiio Horn is a BAMF. Her podcast sounds worth checking too; I grew up in Cree Nation, and out west here we don’t really hear about Mohawk/Iroquois as much, so it’ll be some interesting perspectives on her podcast.

i’m amazed that the goal of so many people/kids is “to be famous.” it’s not to be good at something, it’s just to be a “star.”

I know a lot of people are interested in the casting choices, but I want to know what ludicrous title they’re going to use. Something like:

It’s no contest. Avatar had no pre-existing IP, it was a stand-alone movie. Endgame was the culmination of a 22-movie cycle.

Avatar, by far. Avatar, while not a great film by any means, was once again, cutting edge cinematic technology that blew moviegoers away, where he’s done prior with Terminator 2 and Titanic.

Johansson specifically wanted Shortland to do this movie and reportedly went through a lot of personal effort to convince Shortland. I was a big fan of the military part. Not so much the cabin in the woods idyllic ending though. But the movie had Grandaddy on the soundtrack and that made me super happy.
