Yeah, I mean, doesn’t us getting outraged about his comments prove his point?
Watching it the first time, it was the anticipation of The Avengers that got me through the boring parts of the movie. The movie does have some great moments, but when I watch it these days, it’s a mess and most of the movie is pretty boring. The plot is generic and hardly holds all the character threads together. As…
I thought I was the only one! I didn’t fall asleep, but I thought it was a poorly plotted movie with a terrible villain. I even re-watched it just to make sure. Like the reviewer, though, I did enjoy Captain America. He’s been the best part of the Marvel movies, in my opinion.
Christ almighty here we go...
You and I will never be friends.
Ooh, you’re in for a treat with X-Files. In my opinion however, just avoid the last couple of seasons - they’re not really worth your time. The rest of the series up to that point in a must-watch though.
It wasn’t until Season 2 that I really started to love it. At first I found Anna Torv too cold because I wasn’t familiar with her and so I thought she as an actress was sorta wooden. Once she started to put on all the different personas I found her to be really talented and realized it was more the Dunham character…
Same here. I loved season 1, but the crappy writing and acting of season 2 make it unwatchable. Saying "shit" 20 times an episode does not make it better.
“Fuck-OH-Meettr”
I love the John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together soundtrack. Denver and Rowlf the Dog’s rendition of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ is my favourite version of that song (sorry, Judy), and when I was emceeing the local choir’s Christmas concert at the weekend I stole Denver’s spoken intro to…
So you had the sense of humor of a 45 year old at the age of 8-10?
No, but saying it while people are remembering someone who meant a great deal to everyone is certainly tactless. You’ll have your opportunity to shit on Donald Trump and Hugh Jackman shortly. This is about Stan Lee.
Love that he called out the “recorded in a gymnasium” quality of sound for Disney movies from the ‘60s. That’s always bugged me, even as a kid.
No.
I enjoyed lots of film soundtracks before this, but the first one that I really loved on a personal level was Clint Mansell’s score for The Fountain. Say what you will about the film, but the soundtrack is absolutely perfect for it - unapologetically dramatic, propulsive, always echoing itself. And the musical drop at…
I grew up knowing of her mostly from classic SNL episodes that would run after the current eps, and I remember watching a lot of “Kate and Allie” when I was younger, and she’s the earliest epitome of acidic deadpan in my memories. She was a smart woman on TV when there weren’t many to be found. Much respect.
You mean geeks, asshole.
