When I went to Hawaii a few years back, I observed that in the little identical tchotchke/sundries shops that are every few blocks in the mega-touristy places like Waikiki, they sell these sandals for under $5. They’re meant to be essentially disposable, for people who forgot their sandals at home/the hotel, and don’t

Those are just fucking knockoff Crocs (there’s a phrase from my nightmares), so no. They’re terrible.

I wear mostly black, at the moment I’m dressed in varying shades of black to dark grey. Even I think these shoes are drab and depressing.

I know I’m not his target customer but Kanye’s design aesthetic is so drab and depressing I can’t fathom why anyone would buy his overpriced stuff.

These are definitely the shoes of a child who’s father is the leader of a cult. He has somehow made a less fun Croc and I’m offended. At least Crocs come in fun colors for kids. These are the ugliest shoes I’ve ever seen. Their kids should riot.

Are these hideous, overpriced Croc-knockoffs sold by a MAGA dipshit OK?

The issue to me seemed to not really be the scene within the context of the show, but the fact that Netflix used it as a standalone clip for promotional purposes - iirc the accompanying tweet said something like ‘this makes so much sense!’ which I think meant ‘it makes so much sense for Ali Wong to join the cast of

To your last point: I’m in my mid-20s, and all of my LGBT+ friends actively refer to themselves as “queer.” No LGBT+ person I know over the age of about 40 does. The generational divide on that one is stark.

This is the last show I would freak out on for getting something wrong. I imagine that the producers attempted to get it right within the amusing analogy. Some jokes miss.

As far as apologizing for fucking it up goes, this feels pretty good, no?

And yet Boris Johnson remains disappointingly unslapped.

the Queen lightly slapped him across the face”

This absolutely warrants nastiness. The fact that the First Amendment does not guarantee *this particular dude* the absolute right to have *this particular speech* heard by *this particular woman* is so absolutely clear it can be dismissed on the pleadings. This judge’s actions are appalling.

I did once have a guy pull out my headphone to talk to me, chastising me for ‘ignoring him’; it was beyond shocking, and me realise that I’d somehow become used to guys interrupting me ‘normally’. Most recently, I was explaining to my partner why the wine was labelled vegan, and a guy leaned over to REPEAT EXACTLY

I feel like maybe he should avail himself of readily accessible knowledge pertinent to the case over which he’s presiding, and if he feels unable to do that, perhaps he should retire. Technology is increasingly involved in our interactions with each other, and consequently, our litigations. And Twitter is hardly new.

If it's 2, why force AOC to testify? He can appoint an expert to explain it to him, can't he?

The more I hear about the minutia of her life as a congresswoman, the more I fucking want to hug her and give her wine.

Men, continuing the disappointment.

Sexists: Overt sexists (see the criticisms of Warren being a “school marm” type). Subconscious sexists. People who don’t consider themselves sexist but also think a woman can’t win so they won’t vote for her.

I don’t get it either man. To me it’s Bernie, then a pretty big gap to Warren, then getting hit by a bus. I just think the vast majority of the American people have no coherent political ideology and it’s not worth putting much thought in to it unless you want your head to hurt.
