Seriously. When we get like, 6 months out, I’ll start doing some serious homework on whoever is still running. I’m not wasting my time before that.

Half the people who run in any primary are just looking to get their name out there so they can run for a different office/ sell their book. I think a lot of these people won’t be running all that long.

I have literally no clue who this person is. The Democrats (finally) have a pretty deep bench of talent, and I’m sure not going to squander that opportunity by voting for whatever milquetoast Midwestern white dude is on the ballot. Hopefully there are some smart, ambitious women who get their hats in the ring who that

Fascinating essay! For those looking for a (fictional) depiction of some of these issues I cannot recommend The Red Road (with Jason Momoa, Kiowa Gordon, and Zahn McClarnon, among withers) enough. The tribe in the story (Lenape) are fighting for federal recognition, at one point a character gets removed from the

Bowflex, Pacific Life, Indeed and SmileDirectClub

Good. The less bullshit they pass in the lame duck, the better.

I think one of the best things that we could do to fight the predatory beasts that are for-profit college is to make them ineligible for GI Bill benefits and military tuition assistance. A lot of these colleges get most or nearly all of their money through programs associated with the military, and it screws over

Also, plenty of politicians lose a few before they win. I don’t see why he should have to shut up and go away forever because he lost his last (extremely long-shot) election.

Yea, because of my feet I decided to splurge and buy myself a nice pair of leather boots (in the $300-$400 range, which is why they are basically my only pair of shoes) from a company known for their quality. I’ve had them for over 6 years now, I might need to get them resoled this year, and I make sure I condition

Do people really not know what cheap fabric (aka plastic) feels or looks like? I am in no way stylish or fashionable, but I do have finnicky feet, and I’m pretty good at picking out which shoes are going to fall apart in ten wears and which ones are actually pretty well-made, regardless of price. I feel like I would

Yea, entirely too many people’s “worth” in the eyes of the media is decided by how personable and charming they are to reporters, which has NOTHING to do with if their policies are good, and McCain is the perfect example.

I cut myself some slack on Legend because I very much like it despite of Tom Cruise, and not because of him.

Tom Cruise is the creepiest motherf*cker on the planet, and I cannot watch a single movie he is in without thinking either: 1. Why does he always look so dead behind the eyes, 2. what box is he standing on the be the same height as Cameron Diaz, or 3. what’s with his teeth? (early films only).

Yea, it seems like this isn’t a movie that needs a ton of star names in it. It’s The Lion King. People are going to go see it, even if it turns out to be this:

Yea, the kind of co-dependent reinforcement going on in this story is gross. Stanich is so confident that Alexander will cover for him that giving this in-depth interview gave him no pause, it doesn’t seem to occur to him that Alexander would dig into or publish his history as a serial abuser (and he was right).

My disappointment with this often comes when we attempt to erase bisexuality from the picture. A lot of the people we have retroactively termed gay or lesbian had passionate affairs with both men and women, and while I understand that many monosexual people had to “hide” who they were by having “straight” appearing

Which also seems weird to me given how Crooked Media really seems to be walking the walk when it comes to having non-white, non-straight, non- dudes in key positions, both on the air and off. I get it, these four white guys founded pod, but the rest of the company hardly seems to be a straight, white, sausage fest, so

Yea, there are a million and one politics podcasts people can listen to if they don’t like this one, but the vitriol thrown at these guys seems excessive. Sure, they aren’t Democratic Socialists, but they don’t claim to be, and they certainly don’t shy away from having people with more left-leaning views on the show.

Also, AOC kind of came out of nowhere if you weren’t really into local NYC politics (which these guys have no reason to be). Few people outside the city were paying attention to that race at all because they figured the incumbent was such a shoe-in.

They also fundraised nearly a million dollars specifically for lesser-known Dems in tight races, set up voter drives, and had a pretty useful website that let you know if you were registered, how to find information on voting in your area, and what other actions you could take (like door-knocking and phone banking).
