edited: Harris didn’t pass the sentence but I want to be clear that the policy is not being enforced properly, no one should be jailed under these circumstances. I maintain that she is unfairly vilified on this blog.

I stand corrected. One woman was jailed for her children missing over 100 days of school. While that’s a disgusting, wild overreach of a sentence, Harris has repeated over and over that it doesn’t go from “missing a few days of school” to jail. There are warnings and directives before it reaches that point.

You can argue that this isn’t an effective way to combat truancy, but she was an attorney using the resources available to her and didn’t send anyone to jail. I am really struck by the constant vilifying of Harris on this fucking blog.

It’s becoming difficult to keep track of all the sexual predators in her orbit.

Honestly, I scream laughed.

My roommate and I were doing our usual tradition of smoking a blunt, grabbing a bacon egg and cheese, and sneaking it into the Lincoln Square AMC theater. We’re stoned AF, giggling about something in line, when the guy in front of me turns around halfway and I notice it’s FUCKING MARK RUFFALO. I promptly exclaim,

I refuse to google this, but one of friends texted me that he hasn’t even signed the divorce papers on his precious marriage yet. Yikes.

I spit out my water and choked a bit.

Fuck I’m crying in public

She didn’t seem especially introverted when she was on national television spewing her husband’s racist birther garbage a few years ago.

Yeah exactly. The same thing just happened with William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum on Shameless, where she finally got pay commensurate to her work partly because he advocated on her behalf. It takes someone with “power” (read: privilege) to actually affect change.

Yeah I’m also feeling like the silence of their co-stars reeks of complicity and I imagine we’ll be seeing some half-assed statement from them sometime soon.

I don’t give a singular fuck about Hawaii 5-0 but I have been Team Grace Park for years since Battlestar Galactica, so this is a major bummer. I didn’t expect CBS to acknowledge the real reason behind their departure, but to pepper their statement with condescensions like “enormous talents” and “aloha spirit” is just

Uh, Becky tried to get cute on Instagram right after Lemonade dropped with some “good hair don’t care” bullshit, got dragged to hell and read for filth, and then deleted her Instagram citing “bullying.”

The more interesting story here is the full context of the Halsey quote, in which she tries to swerve around a tough question regarding being a “socially conscious artist” while featuring the homophobic Migos on her album:

I forgot about Heart of Glass, that really was excellent and unexpected. I tried listening to that version after the episode but I kept remembering all the protesters being massacred during the scene it played in.

Holy shit, how could I have forgotten that scene? She demolished that guard and was likely executed. Blaze of glory, praised be bitches.

So do we think this is a tasteless and ignorant joke or a knowing yet desperate bid for relevancy? Either way he can go shave his back now.

I thought the choice of “Feeling Good” was by a wide margin the worst musical choice I have ever seen. It was so wildly inappropriate considering the incredible scene that had just occurred, it managed to sap the power, energy, and momentum of everything that had come before it.

I audibly gasped when June’s daughter appeared at the house, that entire scene left me reeling. Elisabeth Moss is just so freaking excellent, and so is Yvonne Strahovski giving a thankless performance. It’s a difficult task to elicit sympathy and hatred for the same character!
