Yeah, that's really the crux of the strategy, because if you didn't then you would have to go all the way back to work to grab your keys.

While the title could lead you to believe it's about improving your memory, the first paragraph definitely states these tips are to help compensate for less than perfect memory, not improve it. I agree that few if any of these will improve your memory.
For me personally I can't say that my memory has gotten worse since I've started relying on secondary systems. I think there's a possibility that some secondary systems could cause a slight atrophy of memory skills, but (and I'm no expert) it's not like it's possible to offload everything that you have to remember, so…
Maybe I missed it but I'm surprised meditation and getting enough sleep missed the list. If I get even a half an hour less of sleep then usual, I notice a degradation of focus and memory.
I'm a big fan of using my keys to remember things. Want to remember to take your left overs home? Place your keys on top of them in the fridge?
I look at it the same way as decision fatigue; the more things I have to remember, the more likely I am to forget something. By off loading these things to secondary systems, I feel it allows me to remember more important things. Plus by acting on some of these you're putting an emphasis on the things you want to…
Care to share what panels you went with?
Yeah I was thinking around that same logic, which is why I'm going to end up with this one or one very similar. While I realize the solar panel would take forever to charge it solely, I think it's interesting. I've contemplated buying one of the fold out panels and a separate battery, but I think the convenience of…
I was actually looking at the 10,000 mah version of this battery, but someone in the Amazon reviews had mentioned that they didn't get anywhere near the 10,000 output.
They did all their basic shopping at CVS? I couldn't see doing that because of the increased cost and poor selection when compared to the larger big box stores. The only time I stop at CVS or Wal-Greens is when I just need to grab one or two items and I don't feel like dealing with the chaos that is our Kroger parking…
Yup, came in here to say this. Cool project, but this is one of those instances where buying a battery pack with solar panel built in is worth the money if only so it doesnt look like you're trying to get a bomb through the TSA.
Unfortunately it's another thing they can list on the box.
Definitely. There's a chance that vehicles may have had it before then, but I find 2005 is a good cut off from my experience.
That was a rather odd death, wasn't it. Whenever I think of car hacking, that's what I think of.
Came in here to say this. I'm not expert on CAN, but I believe you would really need a CAN scan tool (which this might actually do) to reverse engineer the systems you're looking to tamper with (say the brakes), and then program this device to rebroadcast fake CAN signals. This would all need physical access and a bit…
I've found that most cars 2005+ have CAN. American and Japanese vehicles tend to have it on the OBD port, while European vehicles typically don't.
To be fair they could follow the CAN wires beyond the OBD port and place it somewhere up behind the dash, but of course that would take a lot more time to accomplish.
Just a small test:
Seriously. I'm sure the card is great, but that's way too rich for my blood.
I've been using Amazon instant to stream videos that aren't on Netflix recently, so that would be awesome. That and NHL Gamecenter are my two big ones.
