How... Are you doing this?
Yup I've been looking for a reason to delete it. There we go!
Smart move by Spotify, but I'm sticking with Google Music. $7.99 isn't that much and the ability to steam my own library as well as items from their library (ad free), covers all my music listening needs.
Hmm didn't know that, thanks! I suppose it makes sense given the low bandwidth of SMS, but that proves my initial point even more.
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not defending all of his choices in this bag. He's missing the bare essentials (small amount of food, water sanitation, emergency blanket) and has a lot of redundant or unnecessary items (three knives, two flashlights, and two (?) sets of keys). I'm defending the rugged iPhone case, which I…
It was in a thread discussing about how jobs earlier in your career tend to be more fun and I was asking for some career advice. My boss then commented that his company was relatively local and told me to send in a resume. I did and before I knew it I was hired. Coincidentally it was a small little startup and it was…
That being said I was surprised by the lack of a solar charger.
Every survival bag is going to be specific to the needs of the individual, because we all have different needs, so every survival bag list is going to have items that you might personally disagree with. I actually never thought about shoring up the strength of my smartphone until I read that part of the post, but it…
I think you're making a lot of assumptions. Sure if it's a really serious disaster (Katrina) the cell networks will be useless, but if it's a local emergency (say a toxic spill by his house) most likely cell phone access and electricity will still be intact. Even if cell service is disrupted, you can still use an…
My guess this has more to do with the fact that if it gets to the point where he needs the grab bag, that he wants a more rugged case for his iPhone. I don't think that's a bad idea and is actually rather pragmatic. It's not like he's not going to take his iPhone and shoring up one of the major downfalls of the device…
I got a job back in ~2006 due to a post on Digg.
Yeah I'm fairly confident you're not pissing "pure" Mountain Dew as most of the sugars and other additives are going to be filtered out by your stomach and kidneys (not a doctor). My joke was more aimed at the fact that after I take a multivitamin my urine is the color of Mountain Dew. If it's dark yellow and stings…
I actually use it as a reminder to take my multivitamin. If it's mid afternoon and I'm not urinating Mountain Dew, then I probably forgot to take my multivitamin at lunch.
I didn't get a chance to do a wax before the weather turned, though I might take my car to a touchless one nearby on a dry day and then pull it in our garage at work to do the wax job.
I've heard of automatic car washes scratching the clear coat due to debris being lodged in the swishing cloths (not sure the technical term), but I've never heard of touch free car washes scratching the clear coat and if it did manage to scratch the clear coat a bit you should be able to buff out those scratches once …
I wonder how that correlates with people from the depression era reaching retirement age. In the 1980's someone who was ten years old when the great depression started would be around 60 years old, which would be near retirement age, where I would imagine saving would stop or at least slow down.
I think the V6000 was the laptop a few of my friends had that had issues. I suppose it's not fair to point all of the blame at HP/Compaq, however the way they decided to handle the issue and how quickly the units failed out of warranty still makes me very apprehensive.
I second this. I've started moving away from wearing anything with a graphic on it, but there are definitely some t-shirts that I don't want to get rid of.
"The results are pretty surprising, with some companies, like Comcast and Microsoft not doing very much at all to keep your data safe."
While it is anecdotal, when I was a support tech for Staples back in 2006-2008 I remember a pretty high failure of HP/Compaq laptops due to an issue with the GPU. I also knew about ten people personally that had HP/Compaq laptops fail for the same issue after about two years. They might be more reliable now…
