Yeah, I came in here to comment about Google Docs. It's been awhile since I've used any new versions of Office, but Docs does everything I need it to, with constant cloud saving/syncing and pretty brilliant collaboration, all for no monetary cost. That and the integration with Android is pretty good.

I typically have no issue buying generics, but I usually find it cheaper to buy one of the brand name products that's on sale (think groceries). I think the best thing to do is to be loyal to the lowest costing equivalent and not to a brand. I love Coke, but if Pepsi products are on sale I'll buy Mountain Dew.

Yes, as a matter of fact I use Texter which was developed by Lifehacker :-) (though it looks like it's been abandoned). As someone who handles a lot of support emails at work, using a text expander program saves me a lot of time from repeating the same thing over and over.

While I'm not a member, the guys and gals at i3Detroit are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. If you reside in Metro Detroit (they're based out of Ferndale) I highly recommend checking them out.

While I'm glad to see this finally being built into Android, I think I'm going to stick with Cerberus. Location data is only so good if your phone is stolen or lost (and then found by someone else), but having the ability to take pictures with the forward facing camera when your unlock code is entered incorrectly

I'm always slightly nervous when flying, but have found reading a good book with some music on definitely helps keep me relaxed. It sucks to pay the $10, but using in flight wifi is nice as well to keep your mind occupied.

I got bit one time by someone misrepresenting their appearance. It was just as well as I'm pretty sure neither of us wanted a second date.

$25 breadmaker? Probably not, but if you sold them a car where something went wrong after they bought it, the person might be more inclined to stop by and ask you about it. Granted if you disclosed all known issues, this probably won't happen, but people get all kinds of weird ideas sometimes. I sold a juicer on Ebay

I haven't tried it, but I have a good friend who's been doing online dating for a while and he's had a lot of success using Skype as a first "meetup". It works well, because he gets to make sure that there are no representations as to the person who he's meeting up with and it's good for the other person as they get

I personally wouldn't have an issue with this, as I'm the type of person who doesn't mind being "out numbered" in social situations, but I could see this being kind of a turnoff to some. I could see a situation where the girl you're initially meeting might be on the fence and get swayed either way because of their

The problem with this is they now know where you live. Probably not a big deal, but if the transaction ends up going south for some reason, you probably don't want them to know where you sleep.

I must have missed something, who's selling 2 pints of ice cream for $186? You're always going to have people selling things for higher amounts, but if you do enough digging you can find things at a relatively competitive price on Amazon without the hassle of going to the store. I'm right there with you Michael.

Hmm it must be the phones you've had, as I'm on my fifth Android phone (2x Motorola Droid, Droid 2, Galaxy Nexus (Verizon), Nexus 4) and I've never had this happen. The phone has felt a little warm to the touch and doesn't charge much when navigating with the screen on and streaming, but I've never received a warning

Thanks for the tips. In the interest of having only one cell contract, I was simply going to tether it to my Nexus 4 (rooted and on T-Mobile's unlimited plan). As for mounting, I have a Scion tC (1st gen) and the cubby for the radio fits a Nexus 7 quite nicely, so I think I'm going to go that route.

I'm not sure if it qualifies, but after using Google Maps for three years, I don't think I could ever go back (especially after the latest update) to a stand alone unit. I've honestly considered buying a Nexus 7 to mount into my car just so I could use Google Maps as my in dash nav. Real time traffic is great and if

Wow, that's actually a really good idea.

I think you might be onto something with the Hypoglycemia, as I used to have pretty bad anxiety when I started my job a few years ago that seemed to coincide with me drinking coffee and not eating breakfast. Also Hypoglycemia runs in my family, so I'll have to look into this.

While I agree that those two things are helpful, I think it's just as important to not rely on them as a crutch. There are going to be times where you won't be able to get up or leave and knowing how to cope with those scenarios is especially helpful.

But the person who wrote that script probably had a reason to write that. The longer someone is on the phone with support, the more annoyed the person calling in will become and the more time it will tie up the technician, so a company isn't going to include something just for the sake of doing it.
