I have had the exact opposite experience. Firefox eats up an obscene amount of memory, to the point where it becomes nearly unusable. Chrome has never done that to me.

I gave up on Firefox 3 years ago, it was getting slower with each update and I couldn't stand it anymore. now Chrome seems to be heading the same path of sluggishness...
