Probably the definitive Batman scribe for me between his decade-spanning work in the DCAU and the Arkham games. I'm curious about this idea, though it sounds a little cornball.

I liked how Hall's Batman was basically just a vampire version of Dexter. Needs to kill, but only does so with criminals; has trouble connecting with other human beings, and even did some blood splatter analysis! The Dark Defender indeed.
Completionism is a terrible curse, one that I share and has led me through more than a few terrible episodes of shows like House, HIMYM, and yes, Dexter.
It could team up with the Debra Morgan Memorial Water Fountain, and the Lt. Doakes Memorial Topiary!
I've heard a lot of conflicting info about the "movie theaters make most of their money on concessions" claim. I've heard everything from claims that it's the reason theaters are still in business to the idea that movies themselves don't bring in as much for individual theaters as they used to, but still provide the…
This was the kind of episode where so much of the season's progression crystallized. I'm with Joshua that the time-filling Quinn business drags the episode down a notch, but otherwise this was a tightly-constructed episode that managed to incorporate both a series of thriller surveil and capture sequences, and include…
I loved this stuff when I was a kid, though I have a feeling it would taste like a cloying onslaught of jolly ranchers left to dissolve in a capri sun if I had some today.
Note to self: disregard future recommendations from Danette Chavez and Becca James, but pay attention to Caroline Siede.
It really is difficult to grasp the many subtleties of a character like Flasheart. Perhaps a few more pelvic thrusts might have helped.
It's funny, my first thought after watching "Goodbyeeee" was M*A*S*H. It has the same mix of humor and pathos.
I'm with Kate. I have very little patience for Flasheart and he nearly killed this episode entirely for me. Thankfully Fry and Laurie were there to perk it back up, but I find Flasheart obnoxious, and not in a "that's the joke" sort of way, just a "I don't want to watch this man on my television screen anymore" sort…
"The early 1990s was a time of great advancements in precooked bacon technology."
I like the idea of this episode a lot—exploring Allison's backstory, delving into what makes her tick—but I found the execution pretty lacking. There was a strange quality to the flashback scenes, both the dialogue and Carrie and Allison's delivery were oddly stilted. And the "memory from the past informs scene set in…
Did you ever play "The Simpsons Game"? The controls are pretty rough, but it captures the spirit of the show's humor and sensibilities better than a lot of the ancillary spinoff media the show likes to lend its name to.
You are most welcome! It's possible, but I'd be skeptical. For whatever reason, topical riffs have been a trademark of the in-game quests. For instance, that same quest has tossed-off references to Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump's presidential candidacies. I'm not sure why they do it, but it seems pretty consistent…
Hi asher — a lot of it is the timing. It took me a while to write the article, but this "quest" came down right around the height of the Caitlyn Jenner story, and I believe that "Francine's" appearance on Kent Brockman's show is meant as a direct reference to Jenner's notable interview with Diane Sawyer for 20/20.…

Yes, but it requires a special joystick that can select options like "Trenchant Insight", "Bon Mot", and "Tell Me More".
Holy hell! That's my article! Thanks Joe Blevins! How in the hell did you find it?
Oh, you can silence me, but you can't silence The A.V. Club!
