I agree with you, to an extent. Obviously, we have to focus on rehabilitation, but we need to better articulate what rehabilitation looks like, what success looks like. We also have to make rehabilitative goals achievable by convicts and counselor alike.

It’s the clearance and the shitty visibility. It’s just too low.

No clearance. Too low for good visibility, especially with the dreadnoughts that people drive out there. And, if you really want to lose your mind, own a fast, manual car and then drive it daily on I-5 or 99 or 90.

It’s a Washington car - edible wrappers.

It’s possible to balance the punitive with the rehabilitative. It’s also important to recognize that some people just “are” criminals; no amount of counseling will change their wiring.

The Netherlands is 6.1% the size of Texas and has approximately 68% of the population. Further, the Netherlands grew its infrastructure in response to population density and feasibility. The two places are as far from analogues as it is possible to be.

It’s amazing that people are looking at this as some sort of malicious comment. Actually, it rather proves that people are idiots.

I use pans everyday that were made in the 1920's. In fact, I use all sorts of kitchen equipment that is 20-80 years old. In our factory, we use some machines that are almost 100 years old. Some things hold their utility.

I’ve always thought it better to spend money to treat depression, rather than cause it.

Got a knife? Still can’t stab anyone. Or a bat? Still can’t hit anyone.

I’m almost certain that she gets to define herself. Addiction is a thing, and an addicted person is an addict. “Person who uses drugs”, is not the definition of an addict, an addict is a person who cannot stop using drugs, who cannot function without drugs.

Bolt-on “ground effects”. C’mon.

You almost had me. But, I have driven 1988-1990 Ford Tempos and 1990-1998 Chevy Cavaliers and Pontiac Sunfires (I worked for cheap companies, fleetwise.). Fuck everything about those cars.

NFW!....I mean, no dice.

Right to repair is also a big agricultural and manufacturing issue. I have been keeping old machines alive rather than buy new capital equipment that locks me into a manufacturer ecosystem; for starters, the parts supply chain is much worse than people might think, and second, equipment makers drastically

“Our” slang, is a tough read.

Christ. It was rather clearly a joke. You don’t have to like it, but it certainly wasn’t a crime of pettiness.

Yeah, but my part of suburban Philly has been settled since 1692, according to the sign at the end of the street.

No one is forcing you to suffer them. You don’t know them socially, will likely never do so, and you certainly aren’t forced to consume Mullaney’s or Munn’s work product. So, how are they insufferable? Because they exist and have made decisions you disdain?
