I hope your parents have a very long and cherished life. Your parents are exactly what I have encountered and similar to my own.

Of course they don’t. Nigel Farage left the U.K., about to move to Connecticut and signed a deal with Fox News. I mean, really. Is there anything left to be said?
The far right, globally, has become a terrifying presence. A party that lauds “personal responsibility” and “bootstraps”, no matter where you go and yet they HATE immigrants of all colors. The very people who embrace the hard working spirit, they loathe.
Donald has famously said it’s because New York doesn’t like new money. That always made me laugh. New York is built on new money. It’s how Wall Street happened. New York hates the Trumps because they are shitbags, not because they cannot trace their family back to the Mayflower. From the grandfather who was run out…
As someone who used to work in finance, the people with the real money never said a word about their spending habits. Ever.
Or Zack
It’s the same in this country..
Perfect description.
More than you know. I really and truly thank you for taking the time to respond.
That’s where my mind is headed. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I love him dearly and he asked for my advice. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate that you took the time to respond. He is a college freshman right now so LSAT’s aren’t in his thinking. That said, I am torn because nobody can debate better than this kid. At least not for his age.
Sorry to get all sappy but there isn’t a single thing about your post that didn’t make me tear up. Wow.
Your comment is like hundreds I have read online. Thank you so much.
That’s pretty much what I told him. I think the statistics are something like 400 times the number of law school graduates per job. A glut of lawyers.
I really appreciate your response and thank you for it. He has pie in the sky ideals and while brilliant (yeah, I’m his mom but he really is), I just worry about everything you just mentioned. He is young, filled with how the world should be and wants to make it such.
Gulp. That is my fear. He wants a passion project that won’t pay the bills and he will be saddled with so much debt he will be miserable despite his good intentions.
Your response is kind of where I am at. I want to give him sound advice and you perfectly summed up my feelings. I told him to skip pre-law as an undergraduate major. In fact, the statistics I read show that pre- law majors are at a disadvantage over others. Not sure why but it wasn’t advised. Business would be good…
Awesome suggestion! Thank you. That’s kind of what I was leaning to for suggestions. He’s passionate beyond belief but I just worry about his financial future and making decisions based on emotion. Thank you so much.
I appreciate your response. My question though is should he pursue becoming a lawyer. He has asked my advice on this. Once he decides then yes, he will focus on LSAT’s. Right now he is trying to figure out a career path.
Thank you for your response!
