I think it's better to pay more for one already in the U.S.
I learned on my first car, 1984 Porsche 944... this was 3 months ago.
My first car was a stick, never drove one before, I watched a YouTube video, practiced for 3 minutes and drove home. I believe stick is better, plus easier to drift because of clutch kicks and choice of gears.
I got a 944 as a teen, now 1 year later it's too late... 3 speeding tickets later.
